BIPOGA Games: Olukoyede commends team, as EFCC defeats DSS on Tug of War competition

Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ola Olukoyede has applauded the sporting strides of Team EFCC as the Commission defeated the Department of State Security Services (DSS) in the Tug of War competition at the 14th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to the Head, Media & Publicity, EFCC, Mr. Dele Oyewale, the competition saw the EFCC team defeat the DSS to lift a bronze medal in the second phase of the competition after three breathtaking rounds.
At the presentation of the medal and other trophies earlier won by the EFCC in different competition to Olukoyede, he congratulated the Team and the Sports Committee for a wonderful outing at BIPOGA, stating that he is proud and willing to support sports in the Commission.
The Sports Committee, led by the Secretary to the Commission, Mohammad Hammajoda presented the trophies to the Chairman, explaining that the EFCC had made its imprints in several competitions it participated in.
Responding, Olukoyede said that, “We are going to revive sport activities in the Commission, people are going to see the other side of EFCC through sport. In fact we are working on building a comprehensive sporting facilities at our Academy. We have it in our plan. I assure you that in two years, we are going to build the best football stadium in the country. Be expecting that”.
The Committee informed the Chairman on plans of organizing the Chairman`s Cup, a competition that will involve the various zonal commands in order to spot talents that will represent the country in international competitions. They also requested for enhanced funding and support as the Commission has the potential to compete in various sporting competitions.
