Marking a significant milestone, the fastest-growing political network in Nigeria, Okpurughre Progressive Network (OPN), has successfully convened its inaugural caucus meeting, paving the way for a new era of growth and development.
The meeting sets the stage for the organization’s formal inauguration on April 23, ushering in fresh beginnings and opportunities.
According to the Chairman, OPN, Paul Okpurughre, the maiden caucus meeting in Ughelli was to chart a pathway forward for the organization.
In a well-attended meeting that took place at Ughelli, Delta State threw its weight behind the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC).
Speaking to newsmen after the closed-door meeting, the Director-General of OPN, Idi Presley, said the mission of the group is to canvass for good governance and inclusiveness for all citizens.
“OPN is a never before seen type of political organisation in Nigeria. Our focus, unlike others, is not just to be a supporting vehicle for our political party and its candidates during elections; our primary assignment is to canvass for good governance and inclusiveness.
“We are a people-first organization, and we believe in accountability, good governance, inclusiveness, and proactive leadership.
“We all are progressives and it’s only fitting we align our ideologies with that of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
“We are setting our structure from the state level to the units at grassroots. OPN will be a grassroots based organisation, with membership open to those in the diaspora.
“I urge every well-meaning citizen who desires to see proactive leadership, good governance, and inclusiveness to key into our vision and register to be a member of OPN today,” Presley stated.
In a similar development, April 23rd has been fixed for the official inauguration of the state caucus and local government working committee.
The event, which will take place at Oghara, headquarters of Ethiope West, has been themed: ‘Gathering of Champions’.
