A’Ibom: New Commissioner gets performance ultimatum from Ex-Guber Aspirant

An ex gubernatorial aspirant in the 2023 general elections in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. James Iniama has called on the newly appointed commissioner for Housing Dr. Henry Archibong to see the opportunity as an avenue to pay maximum respect devoid of tyranny to his people, considering their voluntary political services to the state and the LGA in particular.

The charge was contained in a good will message to Archibong, during his swearing in by the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Umo Eno into the state Executive Cabinet, as the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Housing on yesterday and made available to journalists in Uyo.

“Iniama who sent the goodwill message the United States of America stated: “One of the expectations we your kinsmen have in this era of the twin Political Status God has graciously thrust on you is the opportunity for the people of Itu LGA to enjoy the maximum respect devoid of tyranny in their voluntary political service to the LGA and AKS.

“I am sure that you will dedicate this elevation to the Almighty God whose ways are past finding out..
You are the best Gov. Umo Eno has given us in the midst of all who desired to be so appointed.

“Congratulations. I missed the events but please tell your wife that I will come home to celebrate with you as soon as I return from my trip. God is with you and will prosper your thoughts in this new responsibility”. He prayed

Our Correspondent reports that Dr Henry Archibong has been a two term House of Representatives member, representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency.

Until his recent appointment, Archibong was the Honorary Special Adviser to the State Governor on Political Affairs, Uyo Senatorial District and the political leader of Itu Local Government Area nominated by Governor Umo Eno.

Among the 27 Commissioners and Special Advisers swarm-in to the State Executive Cabinet by the governor were: Hon. Aniekan Umanah, Ministry of Information, Rt. Hon. Henry Archibong, Ministry of Housing, Hon. Frank Archibong, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Emem Ibanga, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Prof. Eno Ibanga, Ministry of Works and Fire Service, Comrade Ini Ememobong, Ministry of Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, among others.
