Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has denied reports circulating in local Abia blogs that its National President, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, was arrested and detained by the police in Umuahia, Abia State.

According to the President’s Spokesman, Cornel Udofia, the reports are false and mischievous.

Udofia explained that the National President attended a meeting in Abia State on January 9, 2025, where he addressed members and outlined the guild’s programs for 2025.

During the meeting, an individual began issuing threats and raining abuses on the national body.

The National President promptly reported the incident to the Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police, Zone 9, who intervened and invited the perpetrators for questioning.

Udofia emphasized that the National President was not arrested or detained at any point. Instead, he made an official report of the threat to his life at the Zone 9 police headquarters in Umuahia.

The AGN has been dealing with internal conflicts in its Abia State chapter, which has been led by interim governments since 2024.

The guild has condemned the false reports, which it believes are intended to embarrass and disrespect the Nigeria Police Force.
