African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced its withdrawal from the November 2nd local government election in Abia State.
According to the ADC Chairman, Abia State, Don Norman Obinna, the party formally notified the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) of its decision on October 7, 2024..
As a result, the ADC logo will not appear on the ballot papers, and ABSIEC is expected to respect the party’s directive.
Any individuals claiming to represent ADC in the election should be disregarded, as they are considered impostors .
The ADC has clarified that it is not factionalized in Abia State, citing the Rivers State Federal High Court judgment of 2022, which resolved any internal disputes.
Meanwhile, other parties like the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) are gearing up for the election, with campaigns underway.
The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has also urged voters to participate actively in the election .
