ADC Abia warns against MRMR, reaffirms commitment to membership registration

Abia State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been made aware of a circulating list of “Membership Registration, Mobilisation & Revalidation” (MRMR) State Committee Chairperson and members, which was inaugurated for Abia State.
According to the Publicity Secretary of the party, Chiamaka Ohaja, they strongly advised all Abia State ADC members, ward officials, Local Government officials, State Executive members, Chairmen, and the public to dismiss this so-called committee.
“Neither the Abia State ADC nor its State Chairman was consulted nor contributed to this list. It is illegal and contrary to the ADC Constitution. We affirm that neither the list nor the names on it are recognised by the State Executive Committee or the State Chairman’s office.
“Therefore, we reject the list entirely and call on all Abia State ADC members, ward and LG chairmen, and executives to ignore the disruptions and continue with the mobilisation and registration of members across their wards and local government areas. Additional instructions will be provided to committed party members in due course,” he stated.
He explained that ADC operations are governed by a constitution, and it is essential that we all strictly follow its provisions to maintain unity, order, and uphold internal democracy.
They urged all involved members to respect proper processes and the established leadership structure of the party.
