Actors Guild of Nigeria hails President Tinubu’s support for creative industry

National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas (MON) has commended  President Bola Tinubu, through Minister of Art, Culture and  Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Munz Musawa over the establishment of the Creative Economy Development Fund ( CEDF) and the implementation of the Intellectual Property Monetization Pilot.

According to the Special Adviser on Media/Press Secretary to the President of the group, Amb. Cornell Udofia, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, eagerly looks forward to the proper framework for the payment of royalties and residuals, which was long overdue but described it as a right step in the right direction.

The National President also expressed his gratitude to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the timely approval of the CDEF and the Intellectual Property implementation Project which mark significant milestones in the growth and development process of the creative industry.

As an Association of performers, they  have been in forefront of advocating for proper Implementation of the Intellectual Property policy to yield benefits to our teeming performers.

The establishment of CDEF and IPIP shall help in promoting skills and talent, sound and articulate industrial relationships, fair contractual practices that will improve the livelihood of our performers while making the future of our industry more Sustainable

Emeka emphasized  that President Tinubu has dearly shown his clear determination and commitment to optimize the enormous opportunities in the creative industry beneficial to both the practitioners and the national economy.

The National President looks forward to more cordial relationships with all the relevant agencies under the Ministry to further strengthen the existing cooperations.
