₦1m prize, music, dance: Bigi, Fearless ignite YABATECH campus

Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Lagos, came alive with music, dance and entertainment as Soundcity OnTour, powered by Bigi Carbonated Soft Drink and Fearless Energy Drink, transformed the institution into a hub of youthful creativity and talent.

The three-day campus activation, held from September 15 to 17, allowed students to step away from their regular academic routines and showcase their talents through music, dance and other forms of entertainment.

The programme, featuring brands from the stable of Rite Foods Limited, commenced with campus activations before moving into competitive performances by aspiring artistes and dancers.

A major highlight was the Bigi Music Competition, which attracted students with different musical styles and performances. Contestants competed for the opportunity to emerge as the YABATECH campus winner, win a ₦1 million prize and advance to the national stage.

The Fearless Dance Challenge also provided a platform for talented dancers to demonstrate their creativity, energy and performance skills.

The three-day programme climaxed on September 17 with a Soundcity OnTour concert featuring a lineup of artistes including Modola, Tariq, Syemca, Slimcase, Mr. P and Kodee, alongside Duuwa and Rukmani.

The performances generated excitement among students, who sang, danced and participated actively throughout the concert.
Speaking on the activation, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Rite Foods Limited, Ekuma Eze, said the company’s brands were committed to providing platforms for young Nigerians to express their creativity and explore opportunities.

“Young people are not waiting for culture to happen; they are creating it every day,” Eze said.

He added that through the Bigi and Fearless brands, Rite Foods seeks to engage young people in spaces where their creativity is visible while providing platforms for them to express themselves, discover their capabilities and connect with opportunities beyond the immediate moment.

The YABATECH activation provided more than entertainment, as students were given opportunities to compete, perform and connect with a wider platform for showcasing their talents.

For three days, music, dance and youthful creativity took centre stage at the institution, with Bigi and Fearless providing the platform for students to make their talents heard and seen.
