Retired workers celebrate Wamakko’s contributions to Sokoto development

Sokoto State chapter of the Sokoto State Retired Civil Servants Association (SOSRECSA) has conferred a Certificate of Membership on the Distinguished Senator, Dr. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, naming him an Extraordinary Member and Grand Patron of the association.

The honour was bestowed on Senator Wamakko in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of Sokoto State and his unwavering support for the welfare of retired civil servants across the state.

A statement issued on Sunday in Sokoto by the Senator’s spokesperson, Bashar Abubakar, disclosed that the decision to honour the former governor was unanimously endorsed by the State Chairman of the association, Alhaji Balarabe Marafa Silame, and the State Secretary, Muhammad Garba Bazza.

According to the association, Senator Wamakko has remained a dependable leader whose policies and interventions have positively impacted the lives of many retirees and citizens of Sokoto State.

The statement noted that the conferment of the certificate further underscores the enduring relationship between the former governor and retired civil servants, as well as his continued commitment to promoting the welfare and well-being of the people of Sokoto State.

The association praised Senator Wamakko for his exemplary leadership and dedication to public service, describing him as a statesman whose contributions to governance and human development have left an indelible mark on the state.

Senator Wamakko, who currently represents Sokoto North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, previously served as Governor of Sokoto State, where he implemented several developmental projects and policies that continue to benefit residents of the state.

The honour by SOSRECSA is seen by many as a recognition of the Senator’s longstanding support for pensioners and his continued efforts to improve the lives of citizens beyond his years in executive office.
