MURIC expresses sorrow over demise of prominent Muslimah, Alhaja Siyanbade

Oyo State Chapter of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the Muslim community following the passing of Alhaja Tawakalitu Abosede Siyanbade.

In a statement released by the chapter, MURIC commiserated with the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), the Chairman of the MUSWEN Property Development Committee, Alhaji Murisiku Abidemi Siyanbade, as well as the entire Muslim community in Oyo State over the painful loss.

Alhaja Tawakalitu Abosede Siyanbade, born on August 9, 1960, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the age of 65. She was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites shortly after her demise.

Describing her life and legacy, MURIC noted that the late Alhaja Siyanbade was a devoted Muslimah who lived a life marked by humility, service, and unwavering commitment to the growth of Islam. She was also recognized as a strong pillar within her family and a respected figure within the Muslim community.

The organisation emphasized that her passing represents a significant loss, not only to her immediate family but also to the wider Muslim Ummah in Oyo State and beyond.

Reflecting on the moment of grief, MURIC recalled the saying of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): “Indeed the eyes shed tears, and the heart grieves, but we do not say except what pleases our Lord.” The group noted that the teaching serves as a reminder of patience and total submission to the will of Allah in times of loss.

MURIC further offered prayers for the repose of her soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, expand her grave, illuminate it with light, and grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus.

The organisation also prayed for strength and patience for her husband, children, and the entire Muslim community to bear the irreparable loss.

The statement concluded with the Islamic expression of submission to divine will: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”

The condolence message was jointly signed by the Chairman of MURIC, Oyo State Chapter, Barrister Abduwaheed Lawal, and the General Secretary, Mallam Ibrahim Agunbiade.
