50 Abia youths graduate from NCDMB-Bellazir welding, fabrication programme

Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with Bellazir Energy Ltd, has successfully concluded a comprehensive Steel Welding and Fabrication training program for 50 youths in Abia State.
The initiative, part of NCDMB’s ongoing efforts to empower Nigerian youths with marketable skills, brought together participants from diverse backgrounds and skill levels, equipping them with practical knowledge in welding and fabrication.
The closing ceremony was graced by Operations Manager at Bellazir Ltd, David Daniels, who lauded NCDMB for providing the platform for skills development.
“We are honored to partner with NCDMB on this initiative and proud of the progress made by the participants,” Daniels said.
“We urge the board to continue such programs, as they play a critical role in empowering Nigerian youths and fostering self-reliance.”
He further commended President Bola Tinubu for supporting NCDMB and its initiatives aimed at building the capacity of Nigerian youths.
The programme covered essential areas of welding and fabrication, including safety protocols and equipment handling, project design and execution, and practical welding and fabrication techniques
Participants praised the organizers for the comprehensive nature of the training and the dedication of the facilitators.
Many expressed optimism that the skills acquired would enhance their employability or enable them to establish their own businesses in the welding and fabrication sector.
“We are extremely grateful to NCDMB and Bellazir Ltd for giving us this opportunity to acquire practical skills that can change our lives,” one participant said.
The successful completion of this training underscores NCDMB’s commitment to skills development, self-reliance, and youth empowerment.
By equipping participants with industry-relevant expertise, the program is expected to open avenues for employment and entrepreneurship, contributing to economic growth in Abia State and beyond.
