Umo Eno congratulates AIG Akpanudom on landmark appointment

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has congratulated Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Simeon Udofia Akpanudom, on his appointment as the AIG in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos.

The appointment, approved by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, marks a significant milestone not only in AIG Akpanudom’s career but also in the history of Akwa Ibom State, as he becomes the first indigene of the state to occupy the strategic position.

In a congratulatory message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Eno expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the confidence reposed in AIG Akpanudom, describing the appointment as well deserved.

The Governor noted that AIG Akpanudom’s elevation is a reflection of his track record of professionalism, discipline, and commitment to duty. He expressed confidence that the new AIG would bring to his assignment the core values synonymous with the Akwa Ibom people, including integrity, hard work, transparency, and excellence in service delivery.

Governor Eno further described the appointment as a moment of pride for the government and people of Akwa Ibom State, emphasizing that it highlights the growing recognition of the state’s sons and daughters in key national positions.

He also assured the state government’s continued support and collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, particularly in strengthening security and promoting peace and stability across the country.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, I congratulate you on this well-deserved appointment and wish you success in your new role,” the Governor stated.

The appointment of AIG Akpanudom is widely seen as a testament to his dedication and experience in policing, as well as a call to greater service in tackling complex criminal investigations at one of the country’s most critical police formations.
