6th OSOM: NPF athletic team shines with 42 gold, 38 silver, 34 bronze medals

Nigeria Police Force (NPF) athletic team has emerged as the overall champions of the 6th One Service One Medal (OSOM) Games, held in Abuja from April 23rd to 29th, 2025.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the team displayed exceptional athletic prowess, securing an impressive 42 Gold, 38 Silver, and 34 Bronze medals.

The OSOM Games, an initiative of the National Sports Commission, aimed to promote sporting excellence within Nigeria’s security agencies and bolster Olympic medal prospects.

The games featured 12 participating agencies and 15 sporting events, fostering inter-agency collaboration and showcasing remarkable talent.

The NPF athletic team dominated the games, winning a total of 114 medals.

Corporal Oka Dorcas Eworo, a Police swimmer, was honoured as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Games after winning 9 Gold and 1 Silver medal.

Force Director of Sports, DCP Osifo T. Emefile, led the NPF team to victory.

Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, expressed pride in the NPF’s athletic team, stating that the force is committed to supporting the development of sports in Nigeria.

The NPF’s victory continues the winning tradition of sports legends like DCP (Rtd) Chioma Ajunwa-Okpara, MON, and late SP Sunday Bada.
