2024 Ebonyi Women’s Day: Minister of Works, Sen. Umahi hails Ebonyi First Lady on Women’s Empowerment

Federal Minister of Works, H. E. Sen. Engr. Nweze David Umahi has extended heartfelt felicitations to Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru, wife of Ebonyi State Governor and women of Ebonyi, on the 2024 Ebonyi Women Day Celebration.
The former governor, who is Minister of Works, joined in welcoming the mother of the nation and wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, to Ebonyi State, Salt of the Nation.
In a statement made available to The Mirror, the event, themed “Uplifting women for sustainable development,” the minister commended the Ebonyi First Lady’s empowerment initiatives, acknowledging their impact on women’s self-worth and national progress.
The Minister, further commended the state first lady highly for her modest efforts in raising the sense of self-worth of Ebonyi women through various empowerment and enlightenment programmes.
“This celebration always offers a delightful moment in sharing the memories of the progressive accomplishments of our dear women and acknowledging their pride of place in the social and economic advancement of the nation. Indeed investing in the upliftment of women through empowerment and capacity building sets a direct path towards gender equality, poverty alleviation, and inclusive economic growth; it inspires our women to cultivate the ideals of womanhood as exemplified by the women role models such as the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, who has played magnificent roles in the advancement of nation-building.
“Once more, congratulations, and please accept the assurances of the cheerful considerations, esteemed regards, and best wishes of my family, the management, and the staff of the Federal Ministry of Works,” he added.
