In seasons when nations drift toward collective numbness, when institutions lose moral courage, and when leaders choose silence over responsibility, a rare breed of voices emerges—voices that do not merely speak but roar.

Pastor Tunde Bakare is one such voice. His recent response to my earlier publication was not only timely but profoundly prophetic. Sir, you roared again, and as always, your voice carried weight, clarity, and the conscience of the nation.

Pastor Bakare’s intervention affirmed what many of us have quietly perceived: Nigeria’s struggle with insecurity is not merely military or political. It is also moral, intellectual, and deeply spiritual. Our crisis is not only the presence of terrorists but the absence of courageous truth-tellers within our governing institutions.

When the three arms of government have chosen a new anthem—“On Your Mandate We Shall Stand”—we need a discerning and distinct voice like his.

Reflecting on his response, it is clear that his observation was accurate. If given the platform, I would have told the National Assembly myself that their sustained silence amid escalating terrorism and national insecurity amounts to a legislative embarrassment.

It took the voice of the United States Congress to speak out in our defense before our own lawmakers found the strength to acknowledge our reality. But who would have heard me?

I should have spoken earlier about the failings within our Ministry of Foreign Affairs—their inability to galvanize diplomatic goodwill, mobilize political alliances, or rally strategic international support against the terror threatening our nation. Instead of responsibility, excuses were offered; instead of strategic action, complacency prevailed. Nigeria cannot outsource its courage, and no nation defeats terror by ignoring it.

This is why voices like Pastor Bakare’s remain vital to our national discourse. In an age where political convenience often overshadows moral responsibility, his roar functions as a national alarm bell. It reminds us that the future is nothing without the truth of history, and that nations decline not only when enemies attack but when leaders fall silent.

The Role of Spiritual Intelligence

Embedded in Bakare’s roaring counsel is a deeper principle often overlooked in national strategy: spiritual intelligence. This is not mysticism; it is the ability to perceive underlying causes beyond surface symptoms. Spiritual intelligence recognizes:
