Leading indigenous Itsekiri businesses and prominent corporate organisations have thrown their weight behind the 2026 Itsekiri Global Homecoming, providing platforms, expertise, resources and services to support what is expected to be a major celebration of Itsekiri heritage, culture, enterprise and community.

The Itsekiri Global Homecoming (IGHC), scheduled for August 16 to 23, 2026, is being held across the Warri Kingdom under the authority of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, and under the auspices of The Royal Order of Iwere (ROI).

The week-long event is bringing together Itsekiri sons and daughters from across Nigeria and the global diaspora, as well as friends, partners and other stakeholders of the Warri Kingdom.

The Homecoming is also designed to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the coronation of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, while providing a platform for cultural celebration, networking, enterprise development and renewed connections among the Itsekiri people.

Among the indigenous Itsekiri brands supporting the initiative are Overland Airways, VouchLinks, REYON Water and Agile Cycle, each contributing in different ways towards the success of the historic gathering.

Overland Airways is supporting the movement of guests travelling to the region, helping to facilitate the arrival of returning Itsekiris, visitors and other participants attending the various Homecoming programmes.

The airline’s involvement is expected to contribute to the ease of movement for guests travelling from different parts of Nigeria and beyond as activities unfold across the Warri Kingdom.

VouchLinks, a Nigerian peer-to-peer recommendation platform, is also supporting the Homecoming through its digital platform and innovative approach to trusted recommendations.

The platform’s participation further highlights the growing intersection between indigenous enterprise, digital innovation and community-led initiatives.

REYON Water is supporting the event as the official Hydration Partner, providing support to ensure that guests and participants are catered to during the numerous activities scheduled throughout the week.

Another major addition to the partnership network is Agile Cycle, an indigenous electric mobility venture that has been designated the Official Mobility Partner of the Itsekiri Global Homecoming.

Agile Cycle is expected to support mobility during the week-long celebration, including the highly anticipated Scooter Ride event featuring His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III.
The Scooter Ride has emerged as one of the signature experiences generating, considerable interest ahead of the Homecoming.

The participation of Agile Cycle is also expected to showcase the possibilities of sustainable transportation while demonstrating how indigenous businesses can contribute innovative solutions to major cultural and community events.

The company’s involvement reflects its commitment to smart and sustainable mobility and its vision of providing accessible and innovative transportation solutions.

The growing support from indigenous Itsekiri businesses is being complemented by a wider network of established brands and organisations that have also joined the Homecoming partnership.

They include MAGGI®, from Nestlé Nigeria, Sterling Bank, Seaman’s Schnapps, Loatsad Promomedia, Enugu Air and ORÍKÌ, alongside other supporting organisations.

The expanding partnership base underscores the increasing visibility and significance of the Itsekiri Global Homecoming as a platform capable of bringing together culture, business, tourism, entertainment and community development.

Speaking on the growing support for the initiative, Ade Mabo, a member of The Royal Order of Iwere and the IGHC organising committee, expressed appreciation to the indigenous Itsekiri businesses and other organisations that have committed their resources and platforms to the Homecoming.

Mabo described the participation of indigenous enterprises as a demonstration of the strength of the Itsekiri entrepreneurial community and its commitment to preserving and promoting the heritage of the Warri Kingdom.

According to him, the growing support also demonstrates the shared belief that cultural heritage can serve as a foundation for meaningful opportunities for present and future generations.

He said the organisers were particularly encouraged by the decision of indigenous businesses to identify with the Homecoming and contribute to its success.

“It is deeply encouraging to see indigenous Itsekiri brands and organisations nationwide recognise the significance of the Itsekiri Global Homecoming and choose to support it.

“Their involvement reflects the strength of our entrepreneurial community and the shared belief that we can come together to celebrate our heritage while creating meaningful opportunities for our people and our Kingdom.

“We are sincerely grateful to every partner lending their platform, expertise and resources to make this Homecoming possible,” he said.

The Itsekiri Global Homecoming has been designed as more than a cultural gathering, with organisers positioning the event as a platform for strengthening relationships among Itsekiris at home and in the diaspora while promoting the Warri Kingdom as a destination for culture, tourism, enterprise and investment.

The programme will feature royal pageantry, cultural showcases, culinary experiences, business and development conversations, heritage tours and entertainment.

One of the major attractions will be the iconic Royal Warri River Regatta, which is expected to further showcase the rich maritime heritage and cultural identity of the Itsekiri people.

The various activities will culminate in celebrations marking the fifth coronation anniversary of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR.

For the organisers, the involvement of indigenous enterprises adds an important dimension to the Homecoming because it demonstrates the capacity of Itsekiri businesses to contribute to major initiatives within their community.

It also provides participating brands with an opportunity to connect with consumers, visitors, entrepreneurs and members of the diaspora while showcasing products, services and innovative solutions.

The presence of businesses operating across aviation, digital technology, water and sustainable mobility further illustrates the diversity of the indigenous enterprise ecosystem supporting the event.

As preparations intensify, the expanding network of partners is expected to further strengthen the profile of the 2026 Homecoming and enhance the experience of participants arriving from different parts of Nigeria and around the world.

With culture, enterprise, tourism, innovation and royal heritage coming together, the Itsekiri Global Homecoming 2026 is positioning itself as a significant gathering for reconnecting the Itsekiri people with their heritage while creating opportunities for collaboration and development.

The event is expected to provide a platform for the Itsekiri community to celebrate its history and identity, strengthen relationships across generations and the diaspora, promote indigenous businesses and showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Warri Kingdom to a wider Nigerian and international audience.

As August 16 draws closer, the continued mobilisation of indigenous brands and leading corporate organisations is building momentum around the Homecoming and reinforcing its central message: that heritage, enterprise and community can come together to create a stronger future for the Warri Kingdom.
