Unmanaged crisis in Ogbomoso, a call, a challenge, a way forward

As a loyal subject and a concerned member of the Ogbomoso community, I wish to bring to your attention certain pressing matters that require your wise and thoughtful consideration.

Your recent decision to dissolve the Ogbomoso Parapo central executive council has sparked significant controversy and concern among the members of the organization and the broader Ogbomoso community.

While we understand the need for reform and restructuring, the manner in which this dissolution was carried out has raised questions about the process and the motivations behind it.

Ogbomoso Parapo is a revered organization that comprises the five local government areas of Ogbomosoland, each with its unique cultural and historical significance.

The organization’s constitution clearly outlines the roles and responsibilities of its leaders, including the Ground Patrons, who are esteemed traditional rulers such as the Soun, Olugbon, Onpetu, Aresaadu, Onikoyi, and Alajawa.

Notably, no provision in the constitution grants any single Ground Patron the autonomous right to dissolve the executive council.

In light of the current situation, I humbly implore your Imperial Majesty to consider an alternative approach that prioritizes dialogue and consultation. Rather than dissolution, it would be beneficial to invite the parties involved to the palace for a thorough discussion and resolution of the issues at hand.

This approach would not only be in line with traditional values of conflict resolution but also help to maintain peace and stability within the organization.

It’s essential to recognize that Ogbomoso Parapo is not an isolated entity but part of a larger community fabric that is currently facing numerous challenges.

The Ogbomoso Descendant Development Association, Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum, Egbe-Oloja, and the Ogbomoso Muslim community are all experiencing divisions and crises that threaten the unity and harmony of our land.

These issues underscore the need for wise and thoughtful leadership that prioritizes peace, unity, and the well-being of all community members.

Kabiyesi sir, as you navigate these complex issues, it’s crucial to surround yourself with advisors who prioritize the well-being and unity of Ogbomosoland. The current challenges facing our community highlight the need for counsel that is guided by wisdom, integrity, and a deep understanding of the cultural and historical context of Ogbomoso.

In particular, we would like to bring to your attention the role of your personal assistant in community relations. While the intention behind this appointment may be to foster better community engagement, it’s essential to ensure that this position is occupied by an individual who is not only knowledgeable about Ogbomoso’s unique dynamics but also committed to promoting peace and unity.
