Unlocking value in Nigeria’s real sector: BUA Foods MD set to speak at Industry Summit

Managing Director, BUA Foods Plc, Dr. Ayodele Musibau Abioye, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the 7th edition of the Industry Summit/Awards, scheduled for Friday, April 17th, 2026, at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Organisers of the summit, in a statement made available to the media by the Industry Newspaper, said Dr. Abioye, a distinguished business leader and engineer with over 30 years of experience in business and manufacturing, will deliver a keynote paper titled: “Unlocking value: BUA Foods’ role in transforming Nigeria’s real sector through innovation and sustainability.”
The 2026 summit, themed “The Year of the Real Sector,” is set to feature top industry executives as panelists, including Adeola Amosun of Tolaram, Abisoye Oruye of FrieslandCampina WAMCO, Henry Ononiwu of PHD Nigeria, Oluwaponmile Alabi of Guinness Nigeria, Godfrey Adejumoh of Diageo West & Central Africa, Sylvester Nwanze of UAC Foods, Olusegun Akinyemiju of Guinness Nigeria, and Gift Uche-Ewule of Godrej Consumer Products.
Convener of the Industry Summit/Awards, Goddie Ofose, praised Dr. Abioye as a results-driven leader with a proven track record in operations, manufacturing, supply chain management, and business development.
“Under his leadership, BUA Foods has grown to become a leading entity in the Nigerian and African food sector,” Ofose said.
Dr. Abioye joined BUA Group as Chief Operating Officer in 2021 and was later appointed Managing Director of BUA Foods Plc.
His previous professional experience includes leadership roles at Seven-Up Bottling Company, Coca-Cola Nigeria, Nigerian Bottling Co. Ltd, Frigoglass Ltd, Dansa Foods Ltd, and Secure ID Ltd, among others.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Technology from the University of Ilorin, a Master’s in Engineering Management, and a PhD in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Benin. Dr. Abioye has received extensive professional training both locally and internationally across the USA, Europe, and South Africa, and is a registered engineer with the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN.
He also serves as an advisory board member of the University of Ilorin’s Food Engineering Department.
“Dr. Abioye is passionate about business strategy execution, growth leadership, governance, internal control, waste reduction, sustainability, and the development of associates,” Ofose added.
The summit will be chaired by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investments, Senator John Owan Enoh, and will host special guests including Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Lagos State, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso; Senior Special Assistant to the Nigerian President on New Media and Digital Communications, O’tega Ogra; and Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
