Stakeholders proffer lasting solutions to challenges of maritime students, cadets

Stakeholders in the maritime sector  proffering solutions to the challenges  facing seafaring and non-seafaring maritime students in Nigeria.

At  the 8th edition of the Annual Maritime Students And Youth (AMSAY) Conference, organised by  Platforms Communications in Lagos, under the theme, “Exploring Holistic Approach Towards Solving the Challenges of Nigerian Maritime Students/Cadets”, the object of the event was to identify, highlight and profer lasting solutions to the issues hindering career progress of maritime students and cadets as future leaders of the industry.

The occasion was also used to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Platforms Communications and it’s innovative brands and achievements in the maritime sector.

Notable maritime dignitaries such as Former DG NIMASA, Barr Temisan Omatseye, Secretary-General of African Shipowners Association; Barr Funmi Foluronsho; Secretary-General of Abuja MOU, Capt Sunday Umoren; Pioneer President of Nigerian Shipowners Association (NISA); Chief Isaac Jolapomo; Maritime Consultant, Capt Fola Ojutalayo; COO of Ocean Deep Services Ltd, Mrs Macfoy Rollens; Continental Vice President of African Women In Maritime; Chief Carolyn Akum Ufere were in Attendance.

Others includes: representative of Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr Pius Ukeyima Akutah; representative of Area Manager, Lagos Area Office of NIWA, Engr Sarat Braimoh; representative of President of Nigerian Shipowners Association (NISA); Otunba Sola Adewumi, representative of President of Association of Marine Engineers and Surveyors (AMES), Engr Isreal Obadan, representative of the Principal Partner, Maritime and Commercial Law Partners, Barr Osuala Emma Nwagbara, the General Manager and HR Manager of L.T.T Coastal and Marine Services Ltd, Seasoned mariner, Capt Ogunsakin Williams, amongst others.
