Special birthday tribute to Nosa Edo-Osagie Esq.- A benefactor par excellence

This is a Special Birthday Wish to a great man who is effervescent, Congenial, and Astute- Nosa Edo-Osagie Esq- the immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch- the Lion Bar.

Life is nothing without the ability to show kindness, love, and goodwill to those around you. Little wonder that he is one of the Foremost Rotarians in Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers States.

It was William Shakespeare, the foremost English Playwright, who said: ‘Some men are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them’.

Nosa Edo-Osagie Esq. was born great. Born to one of Benin’s foremost aristocratic families, the Edo-Osagie Family, we can aptly say that Nosa Edo-Osagie Esq. is a blue blood.

He, however, does not allow that to get to him. Instead, he has charted his course, pulling up one achievement after another, to show that he does not hide under the family name. Instead, he is taking the family name to another level.

Nosa Edo-Osagie Esq., in the affairs of the NBA Benin Branch and other organizations he belongs to, is avowed for his probity, transparency, and accountability in handling funds. It is for this reason that the NBA Benin Branch has made him Chairman of the NBA Law Week Organizing Committee about three times and Chairman of the Dinner Organising Committee, among other Committees’ Chairmanship.

He is also known for his benevolence and magnanimity. To this end, he has provided free jotters for participants of the NBA Law Week, for over a decade and a half. It was in demonstration of the gratitude that Benin Bar owes him for service to the Bar that he was elected as the immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch – the Lion Bar.

He has also contributed immensely to the development of the Rotary Club International, for which he is a Major Donor, and he is one of the front runners to be the Governor of his District at the Rotary Club International.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy, former President of the United States, said: ‘Think of what you can do for your country and not what your country can do for you’.

Chief Nosa Edo-Osagie Esq. has also served his home state – Edo State. It is in demonstration of this that the Edo State Government appointed him to the Edo State Property Protection Committee and the Board of the Edo State Public Procurement Agency, where he served meritoriously.

This is a confirmation of another attribute that he possesses, to wit: integrity and reputation. It is very rare for one man to have integrity, generosity, humility, congeniality, and astuteness at the same time. Nosa Edo-Osagie Esq is indeed one in a million and a rare gem.

Nosa Edo-Osagie Esq. is a very senior lawyer, but he treats a senior advocate the same way he treats a young lawyer. As you celebrate your birthday today, the 2nd of March, 2024, we wish you the best of the very many years of prosperity and good health to come. There are greater years ahead the great chair emeritus!
