Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has tasked Mr. Mark Okoye, the pioneer Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), to prioritize key projects, especially the regional railway connecting the five South East states.

The directive aimed to drive development and growth in the region.

Previously, Governor Soludo congratulated Mr. Okoye on his confirmation by the Senate, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the SEDC effectively due to his exceptional leadership qualities and dedication to public service.

This is due to its significant economic importance to the Southeast region, as it will foster the needed development of the area.

According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC), at its 4th meeting held in the Council Chamber, bid farewell to Mr. Mark Okoye on resumption of office as the SEDC honcho.

Earlier, during Mr. Okoye’s appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Anambra State Governor while congratulating Okoye as the pioneer Chief Executive Officer of the SEDC, Soludo commended President Tinubu for the appointment and expressed confidence that Okoye’s role as MD of SEDC will significantly benefit the Southeast region.

Governor Soludo stated, ‘Okoye is fit for the job, considering his wealth of experience in investment banking and dedication to public service while serving as the MD/CEO of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) and previously as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in the state’.

The governor stated that the appointment reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering development in the region.

He, therefore, extended his good wishes to the Chairman and Members of the governing board of the Commission who were also confirmed.
