PDP’s former councilor threatens to take action against local government party official

Former Councilor of Bende local government area and leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Agbozu Uzuakoli, Hon. Ikedieze Enyinnaya Promise, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Vice Publicity Secretary of PDP Bende to reinstate him on the party’s platform.

He claimed to have been a loyal member of the party for over 19 years, serving in various capacities, including as a councilor and party auditor.

Hon. Ikedieze asserted his long-standing commitment to the PDP, highlighting his contributions to the party’s success in his community.

He demanded reinstatement on the PDP Bende platform, citing his continued membership and dedication to the party.

The former councilor gives the Vice Publicity Secretary 48 hours to comply, warning of potential consequences if ignored.

He recounted his history with the PDP, including his support for various candidates and his service to the party.

He explained,” I started attending LGA’s party meetings when I got engaged with Hon Chief Emmanuel Chinedu Ndubuisi (Ijiriji Bende) the member representing Bende South State Constituency. I have been delivering my polling unit and Ward during the general elections, despite being scammed by the Leaders of the party then.

“I have not given even the least Special Assistant (SA) appointment which was rampant to the government then yet I was steadfast.

“During the 2019 general election as an advocate for good governance and one who believes in equity, I supported, Rt. Hon Benjamin Okezie Kanu without even meeting him in person or collected any money from Him, because he did well on His first tenure as the spokesperson of National Assembly then, and still counting”, he further explained.

He noted in 2020, he emerged as the party councilorship candidate during the Local Government election which was the turn for his community after due consultations.

“During the 2022 primaries election, I made it open that I would not support Hon Nnenna Elendu Ukeje in the primary election, that I would support Barr Chijioke Chukwu ( Ogwuayim) when the news from the state governor came to us that he was given ticket . The house was addressed, but the day of the primaries election he deducted N50,000 from the 20 councilors of Bende Legislative Council, so due to how dirty the game was, I have to get back my money, which I got without stress.

“Also I supported Rt Honourable Benjamin Kanu’s second tenure ambition, which I have explained and asked for forgiveness for the anti party activities. I have nothing to tell my followers about supporting Hon Nnenna Elendu Ukeje, because she didn’t give me any material to campaign for her.

“I have to go public because my party members are saying that I collected money to work for him, Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kanu. I supported him because He did well in his first tenure.

“I am still a member of PDP Uzuakoli, Bende, Abia State and Nigeria for now, until you see my resignation letter, which will not come to you,” he emphasized.

He emphasizes his loyalty and contributions, questioning the Vice Publicity Secretary’s authority to remove him from the party platform.
