NCPC Secretary charges Methodist Church Men’s Fellowship to sustain prayers for President Tinubu

Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) Rt. Rev. Prof. Stephen Adegbite, has urged the Methodist Church Men’s Fellowship to continue praying for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Adegbite made this call at the 4th Biennial South West Convention of Methodist Church Nigeria Men’s Fellowship in Lagos, hosted by Trinity Church Council, tagged; Men arise and build.

Adegbite, who is also the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), described President Tinubu as a kind and selfless leader who always puts the needs of others before his own.

He emphasized that the president’s efforts will yield positive results in the years to come, and Nigerians will be grateful for his leadership.

The NCPC Secretary stressed the importance of spiritual support for the nation’s leader, saying that prayers are crucial for the successful implementation of President Tinubu’s reform programs.

The Bishop of Ikeja Diocese of Methodist Church Nigeria, who believes that praying for the current administration is essential for the nation’s progress, commended the men’s fellowship members for their commitment towards the work of God and support to the church

In declaring the convention open, the Bishop, Diocese of Lagos Central, Rt. Rev. (Dr) Samuel Ransford Nortey, admonished the Fellowship members to remain steadfast in their prayers for the nation and its leaders, that God may grant them wisdom and guidance.

“As men of faith, we have a crucial role to play in shaping the future of our nation through our prayers and actions. Let us continue to lift our church leaders in prayer that they may be empowered to lead our church to greatness.

“Your prayers are a source of strength and inspiration to our leaders, and I encourage you to remain committed to this noble endeavour. As we pray for our church, let us also remember to pray for one another, that we may be united in our pursuit of a better future for fellowship”, he prayed.

In his goodwill message, the Bishop, Trinity Church Council, Rt. Rev. Dr. Oladapo Babalola, through the Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, advised the fellowship members to give their hearts and souls, and minds as well as strength to serve the King of kings.

In his words,” Let us rise to support the Methodist Church Nigeria’s vision and mission, let us rise to support the agenda of our Prelate in taking the church to the place of glory God is desiring for His church. Let us arise to be a role model to our young men through our words, our actions, our reactions, and through our confession and hope for a better future of Methodist Church Nigeria”.

National President, Methodist Church Men’s Fellowship, Sir. Dr. Kehinde Oladeji, prayed that the convention with it’s programmes will invoke the presence of the Holy Spirit to bring about the necessary positive change to the church and transforms the policies as it involves the growth and development of men’s work in all respective archdiocese of the church.

“We need to comb our church called Methodist Church Nigeria. As Jesus Christ says in the bible, will I still meet Christianity when I come back? We need to ask ourselves this same rhetorical question: in the next twenty years, where will our church be? Every Methodist should ponder on this question and start to take necessary steps so that the legacy of our forefathers will not perish in our hands. We should not allow selfish, unproductive, and retrogressive policies.

“We are all partakers in the current economic challenges and reformation in our nation today. What we can only continue to do is to pray for a better tomorrow and that the Almighty God should touch our leaders to implement people’s friendly policies “, he advised.

In his welcome address, President, Men’s Fellowship South West, Methodist Church, Sir. Dr. Dele Taiwo commended the church leaders and members for their support of the group.

He advised: “We must be ready to display spirituality in place of materialism and Christianity in place of religion. We must have passion, genuine love, and selflessness in the things of God.

He lamented that some big men in the church have refused to identify with the men’s fellowship, as well as the majority of the ministers below episcopal status considered themselves too big to belong to the fellowship.
