Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with Zeconia Global Investment Co. Ltd., has commenced a five-day intensive training programme on Digital Oilfield Operations and Data Analytics in Lagos State.

The training, which began on Monday, September 28, 2026, is scheduled to end on Friday, October 2, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen digital competencies among young professionals and other industry stakeholders in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

Declaring the programme open in Lagos, the organisers said the training was designed to equip participants with relevant and practical skills in digital oilfield technologies, data-driven decision-making, automation and real-time field analytics.

According to the organisers, the initiative is aligned with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board’s mandate of developing local capacity and promoting greater Nigerian participation in the oil and gas industry.

Participants at the training are being exposed to emerging technologies and practical applications shaping modern upstream oil and gas operations.

The training curriculum covers key areas including digital oilfield architecture, production optimisation, Internet of Things (IoT) applications in the oil and gas industry, data visualisation, predictive analytics and other modern digital tools used in the global energy sector.

The organisers explained that the increasing application of digital technologies in oil and gas operations has created a growing demand for professionals who can combine technical industry knowledge with digital and analytical capabilities.

They noted that the collaboration between NCDMB and Zeconia Global Investment Co. Ltd. demonstrates a shared commitment to addressing the digital skills gap in Nigeria’s energy sector while preparing young professionals for emerging opportunities in the future of work.

The programme is also expected to provide participants with practical exposure that will enhance their understanding of how data, automation and connected technologies can improve operational efficiency, production performance and decision-making in the oil and gas industry.

The organisers expressed optimism that initiatives of this nature would contribute to the development of a new generation of technology-driven Nigerian professionals capable of supporting the digital transformation of the country’s oil and gas industry.

The five-day training will conclude on October 2, 2026.
