NCDMB partners Krystal 12 Nigeria to train personnel on oil spill and crisis management

Krystal 12 Limited, in collaboration with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), has successfully wrapped up an intensive Capacity Building Training Program on Oil Spill Response and Crisis Management.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen environmental protection, enhance rapid-response capabilities, and promote sustainability within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The training provided participants with comprehensive knowledge of oil spill containment, recovery operations, environmental remediation techniques, and modern approaches to crisis management.

Attendees also took part in hands-on drills and simulated emergency scenarios designed to mirror real-life oil spill events.

These exercises equipped them with practical skills necessary for effective field response.

Speaking at the close-out ceremony, Managing Director of Krystal 12 Nigeria, Jalil Usaman, expressed deep appreciation to the NCDMB for its leadership and partnership.

He commended the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, for championing capacity development in the industry.

Usaman also acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s oil and gas sector through policies that encourage local participation and sustainability.

Usaman noted that the training aligns with Krystal 12’s mission to support safer, cleaner, and more efficient operations across the industry.

“This program reinforces our shared obligation to protect the environment, empower local talent, and ensure preparedness for emergencies,” he stated.

The NCDMB, a key driver of local content development, has consistently invested in workforce empowerment and technical capacity enhancement across the oil and gas value chain.

Through initiatives such as the Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training Program, the board is preparing more than 10,000 Nigerians for opportunities in the sector , an achievement that underscores its long-standing commitment to national development.

With the successful completion of this training program, both Krystal 12 Limited and the NCDMB reaffirm their dedication to fostering competence, promoting environmental stewardship, and supporting Nigeria’s long-term energy goals.
