Methodist Men’s Fellowship Holds First 2026 NECO Meeting in Igede

Igede Archdiocese in Benue State is set to host the first National Executive Committee (NECO) meeting of the Methodist Men’s Fellowship for 2026, with activities scheduled to run from Thursday, March 19 to Sunday, March 22.

According to a statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer of the Fellowship, Sir ‘Tunde Babalola, the four-day gathering will bring together members of the National Executive Committee, Zonal and Regional officers, as well as Archdiocesan Presidents, Coordinators and Secretaries from across all Archdioceses within the Conference Area of the church.

The Methodist Archbishop of Igede Archdiocese, His Grace, The Most Reverend Dr. Michael Icha Testimony Simeon, is expected to play a central role in the event.

He will serve as the Chief Officiant at the Holy Eucharist Service scheduled for Friday, March 20, during which he will also formally declare the NECO meeting open on behalf of the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Oliver Ali Aba.

As part of the programme, the National Executive of the Fellowship, led by the National President, Sir Dr. Kehinde Olasunkanmi Oladeji, will pay a courtesy visit to the first-class traditional ruler of Igede Chiefdom, His Royal Majesty Chief CP Ogah Ero, on Friday.

The meeting is expected to focus on reviewing the progress of the Fellowship’s activities, particularly its mission of advancing God’s work among men in the Methodist Church, often described as the premier church. It will also deliberate on and approve programmes and activities for the 2026 calendar year.

Sir Dr. Kehinde Oladeji, will preside over the NECO meeting, supported by the Coordinator of Men’s Work in the Church, The Very Reverend James A. Adikwu, and the National Deputy President, Evangelist Dr. Emmanuel Oche.

Meanwhile, preparations for the event are said to be in top gear under the leadership of Bro. Chief Adikpe Odeh Emmanuel, President of the Men’s Fellowship in Igede Archdiocese. The meeting will take place at the Bishop Okwoche Memorial Methodist Cathedral, Anyuwogbu Ibilla, located in Oju Local Government Area of Benue State.

The gathering is expected to strengthen unity among members, enhance strategic planning, and reinforce the role of men in advancing the mission and vision of the Methodist Church Nigeria.
