Methodist Church Diocese Lay President, Sir Osita, buries father October 23

 

 

Lay President, Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Akegbe Awgu Aninri (AAA), Sir Engr. Humphrey Osita, KJW, is set to bury his father, Elder Chief Alexander Udefuna Osita, Akubueze I of Ndeaboh Ancient Kingdom, who passed away at the age of 85.

Elder Chief Alexander Udefuna Osita, a respected elder, community leader, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was a member of the Mgbom Kindred, Nochele Village, Ndeaboh, in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State.

His death has thrown the Osita family, relatives, friends and members of the Ndeaboh community into mourning, as tributes continue to pour in for the late community leader.

The deceased was remembered as a great patriarch who devoted his life to his family, community and the service of humanity.

His years of leadership, family commitment and community participation earned him the respect of those who knew him.

As the family prepares to give him a final farewell, the funeral programme will commence on Thursday, October 22, 2026, with a Christian wake-keep at the Nochele Primary School playground from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

On Friday, October 23, 2026, the body will leave Eagle Mortuary, Awgu, at 8:00 a.m. and proceed to his compound in Nochele, where it will lie in state.

A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Methodist Church, Nochele, at 10:00 a.m.
The interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at his compound, while a reception will be held at the Nochele Primary School.

The funeral rites will conclude with a thanksgiving service at the church on Sunday, October 25, 2026.

The late Elder Chief Alexander Udefuna Osita is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and other loved ones, including Sir Engr. Humphrey Osita, KJW, Lay President of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Akegbe Awgu Aninri.

As the family mourns the passing of their patriarch, the funeral is expected to bring together church leaders, community leaders, relatives, friends and well-wishers to honour the memory of a man whose life was deeply connected to his family and community.

Elder Chief Alexander Udefuna Osita, Akubueze I of Ndeaboh Ancient Kingdom, will be laid to rest with prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul and divine comfort for the bereaved family.
