The Mirror Newspaper has been appointed as a media partner of the Most Beautiful Girl in Ogun State (MBGO) 2026, ahead of the highly anticipated grand finale scheduled to take place in Abeokuta on November 21, 2026.

The partnership is expected to strengthen the publicity, media visibility and public engagement surrounding the MBGO 2026 project, which is being organised to promote beauty, culture, tourism, youth empowerment and the positive image of Ogun State.

The Convener of MBGO 2026, Ambassador Prince Deji Bakare, disclosed the partnership while acknowledging the longstanding support of The Mirror Newspaper for the initiative.

According to Bakare, The Mirror has been supporting the Most Beautiful Girl in Ogun State project from its early stages and has consistently provided media visibility for the organisation’s activities.

He expressed appreciation to the management and editorial team of the newspaper for identifying with the vision of MBGO and contributing to its growth through sustained media support.

The partnership will see The Mirror Newspaper provide media coverage and publicity for key activities surrounding MBGO 2026, including engagements leading to the grand finale and other activities associated with the emergence of the new queen.

The collaboration is also expected to provide a platform for wider public awareness of the initiative and its objectives, particularly its focus on giving young women an opportunity to develop their confidence, leadership abilities and capacity to positively represent Ogun State.

‘We Appreciate the Confidence Reposed in Us’
Reacting to the development, the Editor-in-Chief of The Mirror Newspaper, Rev. Stanley Ihedigbo, commended the organisers of MBGO 2026 for considering the newspaper as a media partner.

Ihedigbo described the partnership as an opportunity for both organisations to work together in promoting positive stories about Ogun State and providing greater visibility for young people and initiatives that contribute to society.

He assured the MBGO 2026 team of the newspaper’s continued support and commitment to the partnership.

“We appreciate the confidence the organisers of Most Beautiful Girl in Ogun State have reposed in The Mirror Newspaper. We have supported this initiative because we believe in its vision and the opportunities it creates for young women.

“We will continue to provide professional and credible media support for MBGO 2026 and work closely with the organisers to ensure that the activities receive the visibility they deserve,” he said.

The Editor-in-Chief further emphasised the importance of partnerships between the media and organisations promoting culture, tourism, youth development and positive representation.

According to him, the media has an important role to play in telling the stories of young Nigerians who are making meaningful contributions to their communities and in promoting initiatives capable of projecting the country’s cultural and human resources.
Promoting Ogun State Through Beauty and Purpose

The MBGO 2026 initiative, according to the organisers, is designed to go beyond the traditional concept of a beauty pageant by combining beauty with purpose, responsibility, culture and representation.

The eventual winner is expected to serve as an ambassador of the MBGO brand while contributing to the promotion of Ogun State’s cultural heritage, tourism potential and positive identity.

The initiative is being led by Ambassador Prince Deji Bakare, a former Mr. Nigeria, who has continued to engage government officials, traditional institutions, private-sector stakeholders and other partners ahead of the grand finale.

In recent engagements, Bakare has also been meeting stakeholders across Ogun State to build partnerships and support for the initiative.

One of such engagements was his courtesy visit to the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Ola Oresanya, where discussions centred on the MBGO project and possible areas of collaboration.

The Commissioner commended the initiative and expressed interest in meeting the eventual queen following the grand finale.

The Mirror’s growing media partnership

The partnership with MBGO 2026 further reflects The Mirror Newspaper’s commitment to supporting credible events, organisations and initiatives through professional journalism and strategic media communication.

The newspaper, which publishes online and in print, has continued to expand its coverage of developments across Nigeria, with particular attention to public affairs, governance, business, culture, religion, youth development, entertainment and community initiatives.

Through the MBGO 2026 partnership, The Mirror is expected to provide comprehensive coverage of the pageant’s activities and highlight the stories of the contestants, organisers, partners and stakeholders involved in the project.

The partnership will also create opportunities for audiences to follow the journey towards the emergence of the 2026 queen and the activities that will form part of her reign.

With the grand finale scheduled for November 21, 2026, in Abeokuta, preparations for the event are expected to intensify in the coming weeks.

Both The Mirror Newspaper and the MBGO 2026 organisers expressed optimism that the partnership will contribute to the success of the programme and help project the positive image of Ogun State to a wider audience.

For the organisers, the goal is to produce a queen who will not merely wear a crown but will become a positive representative of Ogun State.

For The Mirror Newspaper, the partnership represents an opportunity to use its media platform to tell that story and support a programme centred on beauty, purpose, culture, tourism and youth empowerment.

As preparations continue, the spotlight is gradually shifting towards the grand finale, where Ogun State will welcome a new queen and a new chapter in the MBGO journey.
