MBGO 2026: Ogun Commissioner backs beauty pageant, eyes partnership for Queen

Convener of the Most Beautiful Girl in Ogun State (MBGO) 2026, Ambassador Prince Deji Bakare, has paid a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Ola Oresanya, as part of engagements with key stakeholders ahead of the pageant’s grand finale.

The meeting, held in Abeokuta, provided an opportunity for the MBGO 2026 team to brief the Commissioner on the initiative and explore areas of collaboration with the Ogun State Government.

Dr. Oresanya warmly received Ambassador Bakare and his team and commended the organisers for creating a platform aimed at promoting Ogun State’s beauty, culture, tourism and positive image.

The Commissioner expressed appreciation for the vision behind MBGO 2026, noting its potential to create opportunities for young women while showcasing the rich cultural heritage and identity of the state.

He also expressed interest in meeting the eventual winner of the pageant and encouraged the organisers to sustain their efforts.

Discussions at the meeting also focused on possible support for the eventual queen as she begins her reign and takes on the responsibility of representing Ogun State and the MBGO brand beyond the state.

In response, Ambassador Bakare reaffirmed the organisers’ commitment to working closely with relevant government agencies and other stakeholders to ensure that the initiative contributes meaningfully to the development and promotion of Ogun State.

He also promised that the newly crowned MBGO 2026 Queen would return for a courtesy visit to the Commissioner following the grand finale.

Other members of the Commissioner’s cabinet were also present at the meeting and participated in discussions on the pageant and its broader objectives.

Building partnerships for Ogun State

The courtesy visit is part of a series of engagements by the MBGO 2026 organisers with government officials, private-sector leaders and other stakeholders ahead of the grand finale.

The Most Beautiful Girl in Ogun State 2026 grand finale is scheduled for November 21, 2026, in Abeokuta.

The organisers said efforts are already underway to develop opportunities that will support the eventual winner during her reign.

According to the organisers, the MBGO crown is intended to represent more than beauty, with the queen expected to serve as an ambassador for Ogun State’s culture, tourism, responsibility, positive values and community development.

Ambassador Prince Deji Bakare, a former Mr. Nigeria, is leading the initiative with a vision of creating a platform where beauty meets purpose, and young women are empowered to become confident and influential representatives of Ogun State.

With preparations gathering momentum, attention is now turning to the November 21 grand finale, where a new queen will emerge to begin a new chapter for MBGO.
