National Coordinator/Director General, Movement for Greater Nigeria (M4GN), Comrade Okedara Kolawole, has expressed appreciation to support groups and their leadership for financing, promoting, sacrifices as well as engaging with the grassroots in supporting President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Kolawole, in a statement, recommended ways by which the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the in-coming administration can compensate the support groups for their efforts.
He also thanked the groups for their ruggedness, resilient, doggedness, untiring spirit and efforts, before and after the general elections, which he said “showed the sincere and ever-ready commitment to serve our fatherland genuinely. May Almighty God reward you?”
The M4GN DG further said,” It is time for all support groups to come together in sincerity of purpose, work along with our President-Elect elect to sail through and govern our dear country to the Promised Land. This can only happen if we all support his administration. All genuine support groups should stand up now, defend and protect the mandate freely given to His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu because through him, we are very sure of youth engagement and elimination of ethnic and religious bigotry, youth re-orientation and proper involvement.
“At this point, the leadership to take into cognizance to have people support their course.
If we do not have a good reward mechanism then there will be loose of followership from the party and support groups in future might not have people to bank on if the needful is not done.
I will implore our leaders to make sure that the efforts of the support groups are not in vain because most of the national coordinators and their members spent their money, time without getting a kobo in return. They should make sure the reward mechanism benefit most of the support groups through appointments into boards, agencies, appointments as Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, ministerial appointments etc.,” he explained.
