Below is an overview of the flagship infrastructure assets that set Akwa Ibom apart.

Victor Attah International Airport

Victor Attah International Airport is a modern gateway named after a former state governor. Its contemporary international terminal is designed to handle passenger and cargo traffic efficiently.

The airport’s runway and taxiways allow for simultaneous operations and improved traffic flow—an important advantage for both commercial and cargo scheduling.

An on-site Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility enhances the state’s aviation capacity by supporting comprehensive aircraft servicing, reducing turnaround times and creating skilled technical jobs locally.

The facility is configured to perform A, B, C and D checks and can accommodate two Boeing 747‑400s parked nose‑in and fully contained within the hangar. Equipment layout, clearances and supporting workshops were planned to provide operational flexibility so the MRO can service a wide range of commercial airframes.

Together, the terminal, runway infrastructure, and MRO strengthen Akwa Ibom’s status as an aviation hub in West Africa, improving business travel, cargo movement and access for tourists and investors.

God’swill Akpabio International Stadium

Located in Uyo, Godswill Akpabio International Stadium is an architectural triumph and a civic emblem that reflects the state’s passion for football and large-scale events. Named in honor of Chief Godswill Akpabio (CON), the stadium accommodates more than 30,000 spectators and combines capacity with thoughtful ergonomics to ensure comfort and operational efficiency.

The stadium’s contemporary design and carefully arranged interior spaces meet modern event-management requirements.

The 12-storey cylindrical hotel will provide 146 guest rooms, including standard rooms, suites and presidential suites, designed to meet a range of traveller needs from short stays to executive residencies.

Public amenities are comprehensive: meeting rooms for conferences and events, a spa centre, multiple restaurants, nightclubs, a swimming pool, a tennis court and a rooftop café offering elevated views. With a total construction area of about 13,000 m², the design concentrates facilities within a compact footprint to allow for landscaped outdoor spaces and parking.

The hotel is expected to be a visible landmark that enhances Ikot Ekpene’s profile and generates jobs in hospitality, retail and services.

Bom International Worship Centre

Situated on a 9.5‑hectare site along Udo Udoma Avenue in Uyo, the Ibom International Worship Centre redefines its surrounding business district.

Conceived as the state’s premier facility for religious and civic events, the centre’s main hall accommodates up to 5,500 visitors, and it features a 45,600 m² podium suitable for international conferences, conventions and ceremonies.

Architecturally, the building presents a distinctive silhouette anchored by a tower rising to 49.36 metres. The reinforced concrete superstructure is supported by a steel space‑frame roof with aluminium cladding; external walls combine glass-and-aluminium façades with plaster finishes.

Interior spaces focus on functionality and comfort, with tiled floors, plastered and painted walls, and suspended ceilings where required to improve acoustics.

Essential utilities—including power generation and distribution, water and sewage treatment—are housed in support buildings on the site perimeter to keep event spaces uncluttered and operationally independent.

The project is being delivered on a turnkey basis by Julius Berger. Beyond its use as a venue for worship, the centre will elevate Uyo’s civic and cultural profile and attract national and international visitors for a wide range of events.

Ibom E-Library

The Ibom E-Library is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most advanced digital libraries. Its integrated components include:
