Gov Aiyedatiwa breaks ground for UNIMED Senate building, reaffirms commitment to education, healthcare

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing education and healthcare delivery in the state.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the pledge was made during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Senate Building at the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City.

The ₦1 billion project is a strategic investment in the institution’s future, according to Governor Aiyedatiwa. He emphasized the importance of quality infrastructure and human resources in institutions like UNIMED, highlighting the Senate Building as a symbol of collective dedication to excellence in education and healthcare.

The ceremony was a key highlight of UNIMED’s 6th Convocation ceremony, which also featured the conferment of honorary degrees on distinguished individuals.

The Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, was formally presented with the instrument of office as the university’s new Chancellor during the event.

Governor Aiyedatiwa urged graduates to uphold the values of compassion, innovation, and lifelong learning as they embark on their careers.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, commended the governor for his significant financial commitments to the university, highlighting the institution’s remarkable growth and development over the years.
