Excerpt from Today’s Sermon Topic: Be watchful for His 2nd Coming bible reading: Mk 13:1-37

Happy third Sunday of February! As we journey through this month, we shall march on our enemies into our glory and rest in Jesus’ name, Amen. God, who has been seeing us through each day, shall see us through February in Jesus’ name, Amen.

This month, we shall receive divine acceleration to our places of breakthroughs in Jesus’ name, Amen. Our worship and work in His vineyard will not be in vain. We shall be duly rewarded on earth and enter heaven in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Let’s sing this song together:

This Sunday, God is speaking to us on the topic: “Be Watchful for His 2nd Coming.”

Why do we need to be watchful? Why do we need to get ready? Why do we need to be alert? The simple answer is that when we don’t know the time something will happen, we need to be on the alert so that it will not catch us unaware.

The Bible records in Matt. 24:36 and Mk 13:32 that no one—not even angels—knows the day or hour when Jesus will come, except God.

That is even more reason why we must be watchful and prepared. Since the time is not known and cannot be predicted by anyone, what we need to do is stay alert and ready.

It is even more necessary now to be watchful because all the signs that must happen before His second coming have occurred and are still occurring. This tells us that the day is near and could be today or anytime.

Mk 13:6 says: “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” This has been happening since. Many use the name of Jesus to deceive others, which is a sign of the end. Mk 13:7-8 also speaks of wars and rumours of wars, which are already happening.

The Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas conflict are examples. In Nigeria, there is a war of attrition going on. Boko Haram, ISWAP, unknown gunmen, and bandits’ insurgency constitute war.
The Bible also mentions earthquakes and famine.

There have been earthquakes across the world, and famine currently affects Nigeria. Many families cannot have three square meals a day; people are eating whatever they can find. All this is a sign that His second coming is near.

The trumpet can sound anytime, and the rapture will take place. When the trumpet sounds, souls shall be magnetized by the divine sound (Matt. 24:31).

The dead in Christ shall rise first, and we who are alive will follow (1 Thes. 4:16-17).

It is very important to be watchful because not everyone will be raptured (Matt. 24:40-41). Being watchful means keeping ourselves holy and unblemished every day. We should keep away from sin and live a just life.

The trumpet can sound at any moment—it could sound in the next hour. We only need to be ready and prepared.

I pray that everyone who reads this will not lose heaven in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

“Lord Jesus, I realize I am a sinner. I forsake all my sins and accept You as my personal Lord and Saviour. I will not go back to my sins again. Accept me as Your child.”
