Excerpt from Sunday Sermon Topic: Faith in Jesus

Bible Reading: Mark 5:22-42

Happy second Sunday of the month to you all. God that made it possible for us to see this Sunday in August will make us see many more Sundays this year and beyond in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

God is speaking to us today on the topic “Faith in Jesus.” Ebenezer Obey, a Juju musician who is now a man of God, sang a song many years ago that “Faith in Jesus does not put one to shame.” The Psalmist says in Ps. 34:5, “They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.” No wonder, Apostle Paul says, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;…” Heb.12:2.
We should look unto Him, have faith in Him and trust Him because He is the only One who cannot disappoint or put one to shame.

Jesus didn’t disappoint those who have faith in Him in the Bible, and He will not disappoint us or put us to shame if we have faith in Him.

A certain woman had an issue of blood for twelve years and had spent all she had to cure it, but to no avail. She had faith in Jesus, and when she heard that He was around, she joined the crowd and touched His garment.

She had said to herself that if she could touch His clothes, she would be whole, and immediately she touched His garment, she was healed of the plague. Mark 5:24-29.

If a woman with that kind of ailment could be healed by merely touching His garment, whatever your challenge is, just have faith in Jesus, and it will be resolved.
One of the rulers of the synagogue, whose daughter was sick, had faith in Jesus and begged Him to come and heal his daughter. Mark 5:22-23.

While they were going, people came to break the sad news to him that his daughter had died and should not bother Master Jesus anymore. When Jesus heard it, He assured that all would be well and He raised the dead girl. Mark 5:35-42.

Whatever is dead in your life or business or whatever enemies want to kill in your life or work, with faith in Jesus, the arrows of death will go back to the senders.

In Matt 9:27-30, two blind men had faith in Jesus, and when they learnt that He was around, they cried, saying, “Thou son of David, have mercy on us”. Because of their faith, He healed them.

You need to have faith in Jesus to navigate this turbulent journey of life.
A centurion’s servant was sick, and he sent elders of the Jews to talk to Jesus for his servant’s healing. When he learnt that Jesus was on His way to his house, the centurion said that Jesus didn’t have to come to his house but should just say a word and his servant would be healed.
Jesus recognised this as a great faith, and his servant was healed. Luk. 7:2-10.
Have faith in the Lord Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords, and all your challenges will be over. I pray that the good Lord will increase our faith in Him in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
