“Eno has delivered stability, good governance” – Sen. Sampson

Senator representing Akwa Ibom South in the National Assembly, Dr. Ekong Sampson, has lauded Governor Pastor Umo Eno for ushering in an era of peace, stability, and remarkable progress in Akwa Ibom State, describing his leadership style as transformative and impactful.

Senator Sampson, who made the remarks during the March Congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, averred that the governor
has reinforced power sharing in the state, which has also stabilized the zoning formula.

” The governor is a man of honor. It takes a very honest and principled man to stand on his promises and convictions against any pressure. He has done very well as the leader of our party in the state. He has also done very well in delivering on his Arise Agenda blueprint for the people of the state, with every sector having a fair share of his Midas touch”

Senator Sampson, a Journalist who is also a registered member of the state NUJ with the Federated Chapel, also expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the Union for what he described as their commitment to professionalism and quality service delivery.

He commended the NUJ for fostering unity among members and promoting ethical journalism.

Sampson, who was visibly elated by the warm reception from his colleagues, encouraged more journalists to participate in politics, while also supporting the Union with the furnishing of the new Patience Umo Eno Auditorium.

The Senator, who highlighted his background as a journalist, said he understands the challenges faced by media practitioners and pledged continued support for the growth and welfare of journalists in Akwa Ibom State.

He also solicited the support of NUJ members for Governor Umo Eno, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Senator Sampson, who was accompanied to the Congress by Rep Gaza of Nasarawa Federal Constituency, assured journalists of his continued commitment to championing policies that would advance the journalism profession and improve practitioners’ welfare.

He further reaffirmed his dedication to quality representation and sustained collaboration with the media in promoting the development and progress of Akwa Ibom State.

Earlier, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, passed a vote of confidence on Senator Ekong Sampson,

According to the state Chairman, Comrade Nsibiet John, “Members have noted that Senator Sampson has demonstrated quality representation by connecting professionals and grassroots stakeholders to purposeful leadership through motions, bills, and oversight functions that have earned wide admiration.

“Congress observed that the Senator has remained consistent in his drive for capacity building across his senatorial district, while also demonstrating intentional commitment to empowerment programmes for the people”.

Journalists further commended Senator Sampson’s ingenuity and people-oriented leadership, noting that his efforts have positively impacted the lives and well-being of residents across the three federal constituencies that make up Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District.
