Empowering citizens: CHRICED inaugurates broadcasting studio to foster civic engagement

Resource Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education (CHRICED) has launched a new radio and television studio, marking a significant milestone in its mission to promote democracy, human rights, and civic engagement in Nigeria.
The studio, inaugurated on May 5, 2025, aimed to provide a platform for citizens to share their voices, challenge misinformation, and demand accountability from leaders.
CHRICED’s mission was to promote and protect the rights of citizens while fostering democracy in Nigeria.
The radio and Television studio will serve as a platform for civic engagement, providing a space for citizens to share their realities, challenge false narratives, and demand accountability.
The studio was built on the foundational pillars of Inform, Disseminate, Educate, and Advocate (IDEA), guiding CHRICED’s commitment to advancing democratic values.
The initiative has received support from the MacArthur Foundation, which has been a long-standing partner of CHRICED.
According to the CHRICED’s Executive Director, Executive Director, CHRICED, Dr. Zikirullahi Ibrahim, ” Today, we are not merely inaugurating a broadcasting facility; we are igniting a beacon of truth, a pillar of justice, and a formidable instrument for civic engagement.”
