SUNU Health Nigeria Limited, a leading Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO) in Nigeria and member of the SUNU Group with operations across 17 African countries, has received double recognition at the Africa Brand Awards Nigeria 2026.

The awards ceremony, held on Thursday, attracted business executives, government officials, entrepreneurs and industry experts under the theme, “Creating Iconic brands in Africa: The strategic role of business leaders.”

SUNU Health was honoured as “West Africa Health Insurance Company of the Year” in the Health Insurance and Wellness category in recognition of its contributions to health insurance and healthcare delivery.

The award organisers also recognised the company’s commitment to quality healthcare services, customer satisfaction and innovation within the health insurance industry.

In a separate recognition, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Moyosore Olomola, received the “Most Responsive Health Insurance CEO of the Year” award in the CEO Leadership category.

Olomola received the Diamond Award for what the organisers described as his leadership, responsiveness and team-building efforts.

Reacting to the recognitions, Olomola attributed the awards to the collective efforts of SUNU Health employees and the wider SUNU Group.

He said the honours were both “humbling and encouraging,” adding that they represented the organisation’s commitment to excellence, innovation and customer satisfaction.

According to him, the recognitions also reflected the confidence of clients and the support of stakeholders in the healthcare sector.

“As an organisation, we are determined to redefine the administration of healthcare and make sure that high-quality healthcare services remain accessible and affordable,” he said.

Olomola added that the awards aligned with the company’s vision of building a sustainable brand through excellence, quality service and strong stakeholder relationships.

He dedicated the recognitions to the company’s employees, healthcare professionals, brokers, clients and strategic partners for their continued support and cooperation.

Also speaking, the Brand and Corporate Communications Officer of SUNU Health Nigeria Limited, Mr. Samuel Olayemi, said the awards demonstrated the company’s organisational culture and commitment to delivering quality healthcare experiences to customers.

He noted that the theme of the awards underscored the importance of leadership in building iconic African brands.

“It is indeed great to have our organisation and CEO win the award. Such an achievement shows our organisational corporate culture, the efficiency of our leaders and our focus on giving our customers excellent healthcare experience,” Olayemi said.

He added that the recognition would motivate SUNU Health to continue setting standards in the industry and expanding its impact across Nigeria and West Africa.

The latest honours add to SUNU Health’s record of industry recognitions. In December 2025, the company was named Most Customer-Focused Health Insurance Company of the Year 2025 at the Customer Service Standard Magazine Awards in Lagos.

The company was recognised at the time for its quality of service, customer-oriented approach, digital initiatives and customer satisfaction.

The Africa Brand Awards recognises brands and business leaders for achievements in areas including excellence, innovation, resilience and transformation.

The latest double recognition of SUNU Health and its CEO, therefore, highlights the company’s growing profile in the health insurance and healthcare sector, as it continues to pursue its goal of providing accessible and customer-focused healthcare solutions.

SUNU Health said it would remain focused on strengthening its role as a trusted healthcare partner and contributing to healthier communities in Nigeria and across the West African region.
