Colonialism: Fare reduction entanglement in aviation industry, destructive democracy in post-colonial Africa

By Hon . Emma Chidi Ofoegbu

I can still remember that, there was a time I wrote an article, that mentioned that Africa as presently constituted, is a ‘LABORATORY’ for all manner of dirty experiments by colonial interests, that are bent on making sure that nothing changed, even when it seems, they have stepped aside through the independence strategy.

They have to continue to manipulate the African economic and political spaces, through the rigging of elections, and plotting and sponsoring of coups to dethrone any government elected by the people, and that can comprehensively change the bad and sad stories of poverty, out-of-school children, retrogression and backwardness, which were designed by foreign interests, but implemented by their criminal and corrupt agents in African states.

The fare reduction initiative spearheaded by the Air Peace management, has been turned into a fierce competition and war against Air Peace for making life more tolerant to Nigerian citizens.

The foreign agents and African government, like Mohammad Buhari government, and its extension in the Bola Tinubu administration, are cooperating with the foreign capitalists that have put their knees on Nigerian citizens’ necks, while they scream in agony, pain, and economic hardship; while the government in power devices deceptive strategies, to convince the Nigerian people that the suffering is normal, and should be celebrated, while they exploit, steal, loot and plunder public assets and resources.

What excuse are they going to hook on to now? This fare reduction war has exposed the lies, deception, hypocrisy, and mischief of the capitalist economic analysts, who talk about the forces of demand and supply, and such fallacies as fuel subsidies, and fictitious economic and political concepts, that were designed to serve as scarecrows, while the exploitation of the people and looting go on.

This is what international economic and political systems are all about, and the fallacies they want us to read and accept as a normal course of events that must be experienced in the evolution of nation-states, and the course of civilization.

We can see the hidden secret, and why REFERENDUMS are very necessary in African states if Africa must develop…and make progress.

Why are they no longer mentioning subsidies, why are they not talking about foreign exchange regimes, why are they no longer giving themselves time, to review the cost of flying their Aircraft? Why are they no longer talking about Aviation fuel and Aircraft maintenance costs; Why are all of them quickly reducing their flight fares?

Can Africans see now that our civilization and development must be achieved through indigenous approaches, initiatives, government, and strategies; including insisting on referendum, to reorganize the political space that will serve Africans better?

Every other foreign approach including stage-managed and spurious democratic elections, like the 2023 INEC pronouncement, is a mere delusion.
