Three Crowns Milk, a leading dairy brand from FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, has reaffirmed its commitment to the well-being, empowerment and healthy living of Nigerian mothers with a special activation at the 2026 August Meeting in Owerri, Imo State.
The event, held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Umuorii Field beside Umuorii Women Hall, St. Michael Catholic Church, Umuorii, Owerri, brought together women from 10 communities for a celebration that combined culture, community development, networking, education and empowerment.
The participating communities included Umualum, Umuorii, Umuoba, Okwu, Owalla, Owaelu, Umunahu, Orji, Amakohia and Akwakuma.
The August Meeting, one of the most prominent cultural gatherings among women in South-Eastern Nigeria, continues to provide a platform for women living within and outside the region to return home, reconnect with their communities and contribute to social and economic development.
For Three Crowns Milk, the gathering offered an opportunity to connect directly with mothers and reinforce its commitment to supporting their health, livelihoods and overall well-being.
The brand created an engaging atmosphere through a range of interactive activities, including dairy category education, product sampling, games and other rewarding experiences designed to celebrate the important roles mothers play in their homes and communities.
30 women receive business support
A major highlight of the event was the Three Crowns Milk empowerment initiative, through which women received practical knowledge in key areas including health, finance and agriculture.
Beyond knowledge sharing, the brand also provided equipment to 30 underserved women to enable them to kick-start or strengthen their businesses.
The initiative was designed to go beyond product promotion by providing practical support that can contribute to the economic independence and improved livelihoods of women within their communities.
The intervention also reinforced Three Crowns Milk’s broader message that supporting mothers goes beyond nutrition to include creating opportunities that enable them to live healthier, more productive and fulfilling lives.
The event was graced by the First Lady of Imo State, Her Excellency, Chief Barrister Chioma Uzodimma, who was represented by Mrs Nduka Ijeoma, wife of the Managing Director of the Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority.
Her presence underscored the importance of initiatives that promote women’s empowerment, healthy families and stronger communities.
The celebration also featured the appearance of popular actress and influencer Ebelle Okaro, whose presence added entertainment, excitement and inspiration to the gathering.
Speaking on the initiative, Marketing Director, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, Maureen Ifada, said the company believes that empowering women is essential to building healthier families and stronger communities.
“At FrieslandCampina WAMCO, we believe that when women thrive, families and communities flourish.
“Through Three Crowns Milk, we remain committed to creating platforms that celebrate, support and empower mothers because they are the foundation of healthier families and stronger societies.
“The August Meeting provides another meaningful opportunity to connect with women where culture, community and wellness intersect, and we are proud to share this important moment with the people of Imo State,” she said.
Also speaking on the success of the activation, Marketing Manager, Three Crowns Milk, Chioma Otisi-Igwe, said the brand’s commitment to mothers extends beyond providing quality nutrition.
“At Three Crowns Milk, we believe supporting mothers goes beyond providing good nutrition; it means creating opportunities that empower them to thrive,” she said.
The 2026 August Meeting activation further demonstrated Three Crowns Milk’s efforts to build meaningful relationships with Nigerian women while promoting healthy lifestyles and economic empowerment.
Through initiatives that combine nutrition education, community engagement and livelihood support, the brand continues to position itself as a partner in the journey towards healthier mothers, stronger families and more resilient communities.
For the women who participated in the Owerri celebration, the event provided not only an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate their shared heritage, but also access to knowledge, business support and practical resources capable of making a difference in their daily lives.
The initiative therefore added a strong empowerment dimension to the traditional August Meeting, demonstrating how corporate social engagement can complement cultural gatherings while addressing practical needs within local communities.
