Bishop Okwudili Eze finally releases ‘The Attributes of a Prophet’

Abuja-based Prophet, Bishop Okwudili Eze, popularly known as The Mandated Prophet previously highlighted the role of the Prophet in the body of Christ, and has finally given a deep insight into releasing The Attributes Of A Prophet.

When we talk about attributes, we are simply talking about the features or characteristics of a genuinely called prophet of God. These features must be striking and prominent for somebody to be called into the office of a prophet. The four major attributes of a prophet are as follows:

A prophet is first and foremost a preacher or teacher of the word of God. The ministry of Jesus Christ as the prophet per excellence typifies this in the scripture and it says

“And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee and Jerusalem and the power of God was present to heal them” Luke 5:17.

The prophetic power for the miraculous was stirred up when Jesus began to teach and preach. But this is a contrast with what obtains in our churches today. All you see is a so-called prophet who reads a verse of the scripture and gives it wings to fly away. A prophet must have a sound teaching or preaching ministry to be able to make a lasting impact in the lives of his hearers. A prophet on the pulpit without the word of God is a puppet.

A prophet teaches and speaks by inspired utterances.

“And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. Luke 4:32

There is an element of supernatural dimension when a prophet preaches or teaches. The lord inspires his words and causes the scripture to come alive as he ministers. Most folks are not aware that many times when a prophet is preaching or teaching God’s word the prophetic element which is the inspired utterance is flowing seeking anyone who will connect to it by faith for an enviable life on earth. Their utterances are perfumed by heaven to leave a lasting positive impression on the lives of people.

A prophet has two (2) out of three of the revelational gifts plus prophecy operating consistently in his life and ministry. The gift of the word of knowledge and the gift of the word of wisdom or the discerning of spirits plus prophecy must always accompany a true prophet. These spiritual abilities are given to the man of God to set a prophet fully in his ministerial office. If this grace is not operating consistently in your life and ministry, you may not have been called to the office of a prophet.

A prophet can also be a seer i.e. he sees into the realm of the spirit as the Holy Spirit wills.

The Bible said

“Before time in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was before time called a Seer.” 1 Samuel 9:9

The prophet must have the ability to see into the realm of the spirit as the Holy Spirit moves and directs him. The prophetic dealings and operations are spirit-based manifestations and the prophet must have the ability to see and hear effectively from that realm.
