Benue killings: FG vows accountability as suspects to be arraigned Monday

Federal Government has announced that suspects linked to the recent killings in Yelwata, a town in Benue State, will be arraigned tomorrow, Monday, February 2, at the Federal High Court, Abuja. The arraignment will be before Justice Joyce Abdul-Malik.

According to the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, the suspects have been apprehended following meticulous investigations and collaboration among multiple government agencies.

The AGF’s office affirmed that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure that justice is delivered, sending a clear message to those who perpetrate violence under any guise.

In a statement signed by Kamarudeen Ogundele, Senior Adviser to the President on Communication & Publicity at the AGF’s office, the Federal Government reiterated its commitment under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to protect lives and property, as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution.

“The administration remains steadfast in its resolve to protect every Nigerian citizen and hold accountable anyone who threatens peace and security in the country,” the statement read.
