As schools reopen for another academic session, Marketplace Mission has taken its Back-to-School campaign to pupils in Lagos State, distributing essential educational materials to support children as they begin a new term.

The initiative, tagged “Back to School – Changing lives and making the world a better place,” was held at Godwin Omonua Street, Isolo/Ilasamaja, Lagos, where pupils of Olokun Primary School and Ire-Akari Primary School received school bags, shoes, socks, exercise books and other stationery materials.

The outreach was organised by Dr. Pastor Segun Marsha and Pastor Shade Marsha, who said the intervention was designed to support children and families facing the financial pressures associated with preparing for a new academic session.

For many families, the beginning of a new school term comes with significant financial demands, including the purchase of school uniforms, footwear, bags, books and other learning materials.

It was against this background that Marketplace Mission embarked on the Back-to-School outreach, bringing relief and encouragement to pupils and families within the Isolo/Ilasamaja community.

The beneficiaries from the two primary schools received a range of educational materials, including school bags, shoes, socks, exercise books and stationery items.

According to the organisers, the initiative goes beyond the distribution of physical materials, as it is also aimed at boosting the confidence and motivation of pupils to return to school prepared and eager to learn.

The outreach also provided an opportunity to emphasise the importance of supporting children’s education and creating an environment where every child has access to basic learning resources.

The pupils expressed excitement as they received the items provided for the new academic session, while the gesture was seen as a source of encouragement to families in the community.

The initiative reflects the organisers’ belief that acts of kindness, community support and investment in education can contribute meaningfully to the development of children and society.

Through its Back-to-School campaign, Marketplace Mission seeks to support families, encourage pupils to remain focused on their studies and contribute to building a better future through education.

The organisers said the message behind the outreach was simple: when children are supported today, communities are strengthened for tomorrow.

As the new academic session begins, the initiative serves as a reminder that improving the lives of children requires collective efforts from government, individuals, organisations and the wider community.

From Isolo/Ilasamaja in Lagos, the Marketplace Mission Back-to-School outreach provided pupils with more than educational materials; it offered encouragement, hope and a renewed sense of belonging as they commenced another academic journey.
