Archbishop Nzekwesi honoured as Most Outstanding Real Estate Personality at 2025 Champion Awards

It was a star-studded evening of glamour and recognition as the 2025 Champion Newspapers Awards held in grand style at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites, bringing together distinguished Nigerians from diverse sectors of society.

Among the highlights of the night was the recognition of Archbishop Dr. Onyekachukwu Nzekwesi, the Anambra-born cleric and real estate entrepreneur, who received the Most Outstanding Real Estate Personality of the Year Award.

The accolade was presented by former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, in a ceremony witnessed by captains of industry, dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers.

Notable attendees included Chairman of Cubana Group, Obinna Tochukwu Iyiegbu, and Mrs. Faith Okwukweka Nzekwesi.

In his acceptance speech, Archbishop Nzekwesi expressed gratitude to God and Champion Newspapers, describing the award as a reflection not only of his personal efforts but also the collective contributions of his team.

“This recognition motivates me to redouble my efforts in service to humanity and national development,” he said, adding that the event offered a unique opportunity to engage with role models he had long admired.

Seizing the moment, Archbishop Nzekwesi also unveiled a humanitarian housing initiative for Anambra civil servants, pledging to provide about 100 houses on an owner-occupier basis with a 20-year payment plan.

“This initiative aims to promote home ownership and support hardworking civil servants in our state,” he explained.

Delivering remarks, Gbenga Daniel praised the award recipients, saying, “They remind us that excellence still matters, integrity still counts, and leadership rooted in true service remains the true measure of greatness.”

Earlier, in her welcome address, Nwadiuto Iheakanwa, Group Managing Director of Champion Newspapers Limited, emphasized that the awards celebrate excellence, resilience, and integrity in Nigeria.

“Tonight’s honourees represent the best of what Nigeria can produce. They show that solutions are possible when vision meets integrity, and courage meets competence,” she stated.

Archbishop Nzekwesi is widely recognized as a dynamic spiritual leader, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. He is the General Overseer of Jesus Is Alive Church, Eziowelle, Anambra State, and CEO of Pineleaf Estate and Properties Limited, a real estate company with over 20 years of experience in building sustainable communities.

A graduate of Computer Science from Lagos State University and holder of a Higher National Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, Archbishop Nzekwesi is dedicated to transforming lives spiritually and economically.

His mission focuses on leading people to Christ, promoting financial literacy, and fostering integrity and discipline among youth.

Married with children, Archbishop Nzekwesi continues to be a beacon of hope, faith, and socio-economic empowerment for communities within and beyond Nigeria.
