APGA candidates rally stakeholders ahead of 2027 polls in Adamawa

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Adamawa State have held a strategic meeting in Yola to deliberate on campaign strategies, grassroots mobilisation and strengthening of party structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, tagged “Hon. Ishaya Timothy and Engr. Hakeem Dankisiya Campaign Meeting,” brought together key APGA stakeholders from the state and local government levels.

Among those in attendance were the APGA candidate for the House of Representatives representing Yola North, Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency, Hon. Ishaya Timothy Yohanna, and the party’s senatorial candidate, Engr. Hakeem Dankisiya.

Several APGA local government chairmen and other party leaders also attended the meeting.

The gathering provided an opportunity for party stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for taking the party’s campaign to the grassroots and strengthening its presence across wards, communities and local government areas ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Ishaya Timothy Yohanna and Engr. Hakeem Dankisiya urged party leaders and stakeholders to remain committed to teamwork, responsible leadership and integrity as they work towards achieving APGA’s objectives in the 2027 elections.

The candidates cautioned party members against measuring APGA’s campaign resources against those of established political parties, particularly parties currently in government.

According to them, parties in government naturally have access to greater financial resources, but they said APGA’s strength should instead be built around commitment, effective organisation, grassroots engagement and the determination of its members.

They maintained that the financial strength of competing parties should not discourage APGA members from working towards their political objectives.

The candidates further emphasised that political power ultimately comes from God, urging party members to concentrate on doing their best and fulfilling the responsibilities expected of them.

The meeting also placed considerable emphasis on the importance of building strong and functional grassroots political structures.

Party leaders were encouraged to know their wards and constituents personally, understand the concerns of the people and develop meaningful relationships with residents rather than relying solely on conventional campaign activities.

The stakeholders were also urged to establish reliable structures at the ward and local government levels that would remain active beyond the election campaign period.

The candidates said a strong grassroots network would enable APGA to communicate more effectively with voters and better understand the needs and aspirations of communities.

They further encouraged party leaders to establish stronger relationships with community groups, associations and other organised bodies.

According to them, such relationships could help expand the party’s reach, improve its engagement with the electorate and create stronger channels for communicating APGA’s programmes and political message.

The candidates urged party members not to be discouraged by the financial resources available to rival political parties.

They stressed that elections were not determined solely by the amount of money available to a political organisation, but also by the commitment of its members, effective organisation, strategic mobilisation and the ability to connect with voters.

They therefore called for greater cooperation among party leaders and members at the ward, local government and state levels.

The stakeholders were urged to approach the 2027 elections with discipline, integrity and a clear grassroots strategy capable of strengthening APGA’s presence across the state.

The meeting ended with a renewed call for teamwork among APGA members and a commitment to building stronger party structures capable of connecting the organisation with voters across Yola North, Yola South, Girei and other parts of Adamawa State.

The stakeholders also reaffirmed the need for greater internal cooperation and sustained grassroots engagement as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.

The candidates and party leaders expressed optimism that a well-organised grassroots structure, combined with commitment and effective teamwork, would improve APGA’s chances in the forthcoming elections.
