AkwaCross community, Ghana, holds prayer assembly, calls for generational unity, spiritual alignment

AkwaCross Community Ghana on Saturday convened a virtual Prayer Assembly, bringing together pastors, speakers and members of the Akwa Ibom and Cross River diaspora to seek spiritual renewal, healing and generational alignment ahead of the year 2026.

The virtual hall opened with AkwaCross pastors, speakers and members joining the assembly from across Ghana and other parts of the world.

The gathering was officially called to order by the moderator and President of AkwaCross Community, Ghana, Hon. Prince Emmanuel Victor Brown, who welcomed participants on behalf of the leadership of the community.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Brown introduced the theme of the assembly, “Turning the Heart of the Fathers to the Children and the Heart of the Children to their Fathers,” while also acknowledging guest speakers and members who joined from outside Ghana.

He described the assembly as timely, noting that the AkwaCross community in the diaspora must consciously return to God and one another to experience divine restoration and progress.

The assembly commenced with inspirational praise and worship rendered in Efik and Ibibio, the official languages of AkwaCross, setting a spiritually uplifting atmosphere for the programme.

The first speaker, International President of the Akwa Ibom Believers United Front Worldwide, Apostle Dr. Duke Obong, opened his ministration with prayers before exhorting participants on the central theme of the assembly.

Drawing from biblical accounts of fathers such as Noah and Abraham, Apostle Obong emphasized that fathers carry blessings that are meant to flow across generations.

He admonished AkwaCross citizens in the diaspora to align with one another, stressing that every vision from God is transgenerational, passed from fathers to children.

According to him, disconnection between generations hinders the flow of divine blessings.

Apostle Obong further urged participants to return fully to their Creator in 2026, noting that existence is not meant to be lived in isolation.

Referencing scriptures including Luke 15, Hebrews 11 vs 39 to 40, and John 5:8, he reminded the audience that children should not be far from their fathers, nor should fathers be distant from their children, spiritually or otherwise.

The second speaker, Ghana-based Akwa Ibom clergy, Prophetess Faith Akan, delivered her exhortation from a complementary perspective.

She began by acknowledging the organizers and offering prayers before addressing AkwaCross citizens in Ghana, particularly women and ladies, on the need to align with God’s purpose, counsel and intentions while in the diaspora.

Prophetess Akan cited biblical examples of individuals who failed due to disunity and anchored her teaching on Malachi 4:6.

She spoke extensively on the subject of PAINS, describing them as barriers that often prevent fathers and children from receiving God’s blessings.

According to her, life is not defined by pain but by how individuals handle it.

She likened life to a coin with two sides—good and bad—and explained that pains often bring awakening and realignment with God.

She emphasized that pains are meant to be understood, not endured, urging participants to let go of past hurts as they prepare for 2026 to fully receive divine blessings.

In his concluding remarks, Hon. Prince Emmanuel Brown highlighted the significance of the assembly as part of the community’s broader spiritual and organizational growth.

He also announced the official unveiling of the AkwaCross Community Ghana website, describing it as a major milestone aimed at improving communication, visibility and engagement among members of the community in Ghana and across the diaspora.

Participants expressed gratitude for the impactful sessions, describing the prayer assembly as a timely call to unity, healing and renewed commitment to God and community.
