Akwa Ibom Govt recognizes 2025 Public Service Week committee’s achievements

Akwa Ibom State Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, has expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman and members of the Planning Committee for the 2025 Public Service Week.

The celebration, which aimed to recognize and reward outstanding public servants, was deemed a resounding success, with workers in the state coming together to promote efficiency and enhance productivity.

The Head of Civil Service handed down the commendation during official submission of the Report of the week-long event to him in his office yesterday by the Committee, led by the Chairman, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Grace Akpan.

“I want to very sincerely, thank the Committee for a job well done”, Elder Essien said.

“Making the Public Service of the Akwa Ibom State proud; the celebration took the centre stage of discourse, even at the State Executive Council with resolution for members of the EXCO to attend the activities in addition to the celebration receiving elaborate Government-sponsored media publicity on various National and Local TV stations as well as numerous social media platforms”, he added.

Elder Effiong Essien particularly extended appreciation of Public Servants in Akwa Ibom State to the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno for granting approval for the exercise and other Public Spirited individuals for their support towards the successful delivery of the Public Service Week in the State.

Presenting the report to the Head of Civil Service, the Chairman of the Committee and Permanent Secretary, Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Grace Akpan had expressed appreciation to Elder Effiong Essien for the confidence reposed in them by offering them the opportunity to plan and implement the 2025 Public Service Week and pledged the readiness of Committee members to serve in any capacity whenever they are called upon.

Mrs. Grace Akpan used the avenue to thank the Dean, College of Permanent Secretaries, Barr Uduak Eyo-Nsa and all Permanent Secretaries for their Support and cooperation throughout the week-long celebration and also thanked particularly, the Managing Director of Bulletin Construction, Chief Faysal Harb, the GM, AK-RUWATSAN, Mr. Saviour Udoh and the MD, Ibom Hotel, Sir Charles Udoh for their support and contributions which added colour to the celebration.

It will be recalled that, the Ad-hoc Committee for the Planning and implementation of the 2025 Public Service Week was inaugurated by the Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien on Friday, 20th June, 2025.
