AFUED seeks collaboration with Wesley University on Programmes exchange

Management of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, has expressed a desire to collaborate with Wesley University Ondo for research, staff and student programme exchange, and other academic initiatives.

In a statement over the weekend by the Public Relations Officer of Wesley University Ondo, Ms. Peace Olanrewaju, AFUED paid a courtesy visit, as part of efforts to deepen institutional collaboration between the two academic bodies.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of Wesley University, Ondo, Rt. Revd. Prof. Sunday Obeka, the visit marked a key step toward academic collaboration, with discussions focused on a proposed MoU covering research, staff and student programme exchange, and other academic initiatives.

Prof. Obeka noted that Wesley University has remained committed to building both local and international academic alliances to enhance research development and impact the community positively.

“This collaboration,” he said, “will breed more academic and research development for both universities.”

In his remarks, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of AFUED, Prof. Samuel Akintunde, appreciated the warm hospitality of the Wesley University management and emphasized that the partnership holds great promise.

“Our collaboration can address several areas including disciplinary measures, joint research, and exchange programs for both staff and students,” he noted.

In his vote of thanks, Dr. Dayo Duyile, Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Wesley University, recommended the establishment of a Department of Communication Studies, especially one focused on journalism education.

He lauded the Vice-Chancellor for the rapid progress recorded at Wesley University, describing it as “a university moving at a very high speed.”

Dr. Duyile also thanked the AFUED team for the visit and encouraged them to see it as the beginning of a long-term relationship. He acknowledged the presence of AFUED officials, including Prof. Samuel Akintunde (Acting Vice-Chancellor), Prof. Abayomi Olajuyigbe ( Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Adeola Afolabi (Acting Librarian), and Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede (Registrar).

The Wesley University team, led by the Vice-Chancellor, conducted a tour of the institution’s facilities for the visiting delegation. During the tour, Prof. Samuel Akintunde of AFUED commended Wesley University’s progress in academics and infrastructure, praising the leadership of Prof. Obeka for the achievements recorded within a short period.
