Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has empowered 50 youths from Delta State with specialised skills in digital oilfield operations and data analytics as part of efforts to strengthen local capacity in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The beneficiaries participated in a five-day intensive training programme executed by XYZ Logistics Limited in Asaba, Delta State, from Monday, October 26, to Friday, October 30, 2026.

The programme was designed to equip participants with relevant technical and digital skills needed to thrive in the evolving oil and gas industry, particularly in digital oilfield technologies, data analytics, real-time field monitoring, predictive maintenance and data-driven decision-making.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the management of XYZ Logistics Limited, on behalf of NCDMB, commended the participants for their commitment, discipline and enthusiasm throughout the training.

The management noted that the initiative aligned with NCDMB’s mandate to promote local capacity development, strengthen human capital and advance Nigerian Content participation in the oil and gas sector.

According to the facilitators, the participants underwent practical and hands-on sessions covering digital oilfield operations, the application of data analytics in the oil and gas industry, smart field management and emerging technologies shaping the future of energy operations.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to NCDMB for sponsoring the programme and XYZ Logistics Limited for its effective execution and delivery.

They described the training as timely, insightful and transformative, noting that the knowledge and practical skills acquired would improve their career prospects and create opportunities for participation in the energy sector.

The beneficiaries also pledged to deploy the knowledge gained productively and contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The five-day programme ended with the presentation of certificates of participation and starter packs to the 50 beneficiaries.

NCDMB has continued to emphasise the importance of youth empowerment and sustainable human capital development as critical components of strengthening Nigerian participation in the oil and gas industry, particularly across the Niger Delta region.
