Presiden, Organization of African Unity, South Carolina (OAU-SC) Grand Knight Emeritus, Sir Tonna Okei (Ikuku Oma),
and former Secretary of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) in the defunct Bendel state, Chief John Ehikwe, have congratulated Chairman, Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Chiedu Ebie, on his recent appointments as Coordinating Director IV, Contact and Mobilization, Presidential Campaign Council, and Deputy Director-General of the Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council.

In a jointly signed statement and made available to newsmen, the duo described the appointments as a significant recognition of Ebie’s leadership qualities, administrative competence, political experience and consistent contributions to governance and public service, expressing confidence that he would bring his wealth of experience to bear on the responsibilities entrusted to him.

They noted that the appointments, coming within a short period, were indicative of the confidence reposed in Ebie by the party’s leadership and other critical stakeholders in his ability to deliver on demanding political assignments at both the national and state levels.

According to them, Ebie’s emergence as Coordinating Director IV, Contact and Mobilization, in the Presidential Campaign Council, alongside his appointment as Deputy Director-General of the Delta State APC Campaign Council, reflects his growing relevance in the political landscape and his capacity to contribute meaningfully to strategic engagements, stakeholder relations and grassroots mobilization.

They further observed that the assignments require individuals with a sound understanding of political dynamics, effective communication skills, strong organizational capacity and the ability to build bridges across diverse interests, qualities they believe Ebie possesses in considerable measure.

Okei and Ehikwe also acknowledged Ebie’s contributions to public administration and institutional leadership, particularly in his capacity as Chairman of the NDDC Governing Board, noting that his experience in public office has continued to position him for greater responsibilities.

They maintained that leadership appointments of such significance are rarely disconnected from the confidence earned through years of service, commitment to institutional development and the ability to work with different stakeholders toward common objectives.

The congratulatory message also highlighted the importance of the campaign assignments to the APC’s political mobilization efforts ahead of the forthcoming general elections, stressing that effective coordination, sustained engagement with party members and meaningful interaction with the electorate would be crucial to achieving the party’s objectives.

They expressed optimism that Ebie would deploy his political network, interpersonal skills and organizational abilities to strengthen the campaign structures, promote party unity and support the mobilization of supporters across Delta State and beyond.

The duo further urged party members and supporters to cooperate with the leadership of the campaign councils, emphasizing that collective commitment, discipline and a shared sense of purpose would be necessary for the successful execution of the campaign’s programmes.

They described Ebie as a worthy ambassador of his Ika ethnic nationality, whose rising profile in state and national affairs underscores the importance of dedication, competence and purposeful service in public life.

While wishing him success in the discharge of his new responsibilities, Okei and Ehikwe expressed confidence that he would justify the confidence reposed in him and make meaningful contributions to the success of the campaign councils.

They concluded by urging him to remain focused on the ideals of inclusive leadership, political engagement and service to the people, expressing the hope that his latest appointments would provide further opportunities for him to contribute to the political development of Delta State and Nigeria.
