Marriage and ministry converged in an atmosphere of love, fellowship, and spiritual renewal as Marketplace Missions Inc. successfully hosted the maiden edition of the Coaches Time Out Marriage Enrichment Retreat in Nigeria, bringing together sports coaches and their spouses for a weekend of prayer, counseling, recreation and relationship building aimed at strengthening homes and promoting enduring family values.

The retreat, held at Timeless Beach Resort, Okun-Ajah, Lagos, brought together sports coaches and their spouses from different parts of the country for a refreshing experience focused on strengthening marriages, deepening spiritual commitment and fostering healthy family relationships.

Hosted by renowned Christian leaders, marriage counsellors, authors and speakers, Dr. Apostle Segun Masha and Dr. Pastor Shade Masha, the retreat was built around the central message that,

“Even a marriage ordained by God needs prayer, planning and nurturing to succeed.”

Speaking on the vision behind the programme, the organisers explained that the retreat was designed to allow coaches and their spouses to step away from the demands of their professional and personal lives to rest, reconnect and intentionally invest in their marriages.

According to them, strong families remain the bedrock of a healthy society, making it essential for couples to continually nurture their relationships through prayer, communication and mutual support.

The event featured a rich blend of spiritual, educational and recreational activities carefully designed to enrich the participants’ marital lives. Couples participated in marriage counselling sessions, interactive discussions, prayers, games, recreational activities, gift presentations, prize-winning competitions and shared meals, all aimed at promoting love, unity and stronger family bonds.

The relaxed and serene environment of the beach resort also provided participants with the opportunity to unwind, build friendships with other couples and create lasting memories.

Many of the participating couples expressed appreciation to Marketplace Missions Inc. for creating a unique platform dedicated to the well-being of sports coaches and their families.

They described the retreat as timely, impactful and spiritually uplifting, noting that it enabled them to reconnect with their spouses, strengthen communication and renew their commitment to building God-centred homes.

Several participants also shared testimonies of personal transformation, expressing gratitude to God for the opportunity to be part of what they described as a life-changing experience.

The couples commended Dr. Apostle Segun Masha and Dr. Pastor Shade Masha for their vision, compassion and unwavering commitment to supporting coaches, marriages and families across Nigeria through faith-based initiatives.

They also offered prayers for greater wisdom, strength, divine guidance and increased grace upon the lives and ministry of the organisers, expressing confidence that the initiative would continue to transform homes and positively impact society.

The maiden edition of the Coaches Time Out Marriage Enrichment Retreat concluded on a joyful and inspiring note, with participants leaving Timeless Beach Resort refreshed, encouraged and better equipped to build stronger, healthier and God-centred marriages while balancing the demands of family life and professional responsibilities.
